I'm kind of the opinion that we should start playing Foyth as both Toby and Jan look quite degraded from what they once were. They look old and play old. Sanchez and Foyth has the potential to be a good pairing if we give it a chance to blossom.

Either that or try him out as a DM, he's more mobile than Dier, a better defender and I'd argue better on the ball and a cleaner passer.

He is only 21 and i believe he has shown enough in his 14 prem games ( yes 14) that he has ability.

At his age the size of the club is irrelevant, rather the amount of first team minutes is what counts

Every possibility that Foyth is one of several of our squad, in particular our South Americans, hoping to reunite with Poch once he's landed his next project.

I think it's a difficult situation with Foyth and Sanchez, both have potential but need to play with an experienced partner. Someone suggested Foyth could fill in at DM and I think that might be a good option for him and the team at present as Dier is the only player suited to player that role at present.

Are these the same several members of the squad who stopped playing for him, questioned his tactics, hated his training, and wanted him out?

Cos that would be ‘ironic’ if so....

That can't really be levelled at the South Americans. Foyth and Lo Celso never played, Lamela tried when selected but then got injured and Gazaniga has mostly been good since he got into the team.

The Brits and the Euros can be questioned of course...

That is possible, but I think he needs to see a path forward and get that time on the pitch. He's establishing himself for Argentina and he's at an age where playing time is getting very important.

I also think that both him and Sanchez will continue to benefit from having a more experienced player next to them. We don't know when the time will be for Vertonghen and Alderweireld to leave, but if we look to bring in a first choice replacement at some point some difficult choices might have to be made.

I would fully support Foyth getting some time in other positions. Definitely at right back, perhaps also at DM where our options are limited. Though he's never played there from what I know and I have no idea if Mourinho sees him as an option there at all.

A step up in the hierarchy at least being on the bench, but also being trusted to be thrown on to see the game out in the final minutes.

Will be interesting to see if he gets more chances to prove himself over the coming weeks.

Seeing Wolves play Dendonker at centre back... seeing Dier in midfield... I could see Foyth playing in midfield, he has great touch and the physical attributes needed.

He will probably have a similar path to Dier i.e. right back, DM and centre back as required.

We've got some decent ball-playing defenders in Toby and Jan. Even with Aurier when he's well forward in attack. But Foyth shows that cool command of the ball at a young age that suggests he'll be a leader of the back four someday. I hope he's nurtured and developed properly.

It’s why we want med him and so did PSG
Players need games though to develop too
Whether that will be here now I’m now so sure

He has potential they say, he is good on the ball they say, but on the truth is physically he simply not strong enough at the moment, and he is making too many mistakes that directly lead to goals. Personally I would favour sending him on loan, however I am acutely aware that I am in the minority on this board.

He is good on the ball but that makes him too confident. He overplays and that is why he keeps getting caught, he needs to develop better judgement on when to try to run the ball and when it's simpler (and safer) to pass instead.

I don't know if that will come with games or training or if it will ever even truly dawn on him but he has the raw ingredients he just needs to take his own self confidence down a notch.

Experience is what he needs. I'd be tempted to play him as DM. His skill set seems to match that position better, for now anyway.

I like the idea of him at DM, I have suggested the idea myself previously. It matches all his strengths without being in such a super critical area. If he had been playing DM yesterday and made that mistake there is every chance that there would have been two CBs to cover the space behind him.
