James McCarthy

McCarthy is unspectacular , does a steady job in midfield knows how to pass a ball and keeps it relatively simple .. He passes better than the two we have , is stronger than the two we have and Is Not afraid to put leg in and defensively Is better than two we have .. I don't think he is what we need though. He won't make that much of a difference or upgrade .. The player I want in middle of field needs presence and someone who would bring a huge upgrade to that area .. That's the player we need .. Schnderlein would have been that player .. After him I honestly don't know premier league experience wise .. We def need someone ASAP though .. Mason bentaleb are ok but I can see why teams walk all over us at times and why we concede so many goals .. On great days like Ar5ena1 at home they are brill but days like United away they get absolutely battered and shown up for what they are ...

Yet they stats completely contradict your comments

His passing isn't as good as our midfielders and actually is quite a bit worse

Not sure how you would measure strength but he certainly didn't impose himself against us when we beat them Both times comfortably last season

Yes he does make more blocks than Mason and Bentelab but that could be great defending or even as a result of being out of position initially and doing a Dawson (fling yourself at the ball)

For £20m which is what he would have cost we could get in plenty better I'm sure

Everton fans I know are happy as they get to keep a player in what they view is their weakest area yet they don't rate him that highly other than the one I know who doesn't go
