Taken from the minutes of THST's latest meeting with the club :
    • KL asked whether the Club would ask for dispensation to play a block of Premier League matches away from WHL at the start and end of the forthcoming campaign. DL confirmed this had been requested – not a block, but two matches at the end of the campaign – and this was being considered by the PL
Re details on 2016/17 ticketing - it just states that details will be announced very soon.

    • Ticketing 16/17
      • A briefing meeting between IM/JW and KL/MC had been held on 23/5; and an announcement on 16/17 ticketing is due very soon
      • KL restated the THST position that loyalty points should be factored in to how tickets will be allocated to Premiership Category A games and the final home game of the season
      • IM confirmed that the Club would include these views in the planning for the ticketing strategy for 2016/17 and full details will be confirmed shortly
      • IM confirmed that in light of the likely reduced allocation, pro-rata reductions would be implemented for Overseas Supporters Clubs, partner and staff seats

Does anyone know what the current allocations are for partners/overseas supporters clubs/away fans etc? I know that there are currently around 20k season ticket holders and so I'm trying to understand how many tickets will be left for club members if it does go down to a LP system for the big games.

It's 10% for away fans, and that won't change next season (for league games) according to the minutes. I don't know about the other allocations.
LPs would be the fairest way to allocate tickets for the last home game certainly. Not so sure about all Cat A games, as that is just maintaining a closed club, but I can see for the last season why that might be a preferred option for those with sufficient points.
However if they announce the last game and Cat A games going to LPs, will they lose out on potential new Membership sales for the season? This might make it unattractive for the club.

As loyalty points are only applicable for the last 5 seasons, I don't believe for one second that it's the fairest way of doing things. People who started going to games to watch Bale and Modric are apparently more "loyal" than those of us who were there to watch relegation scraps in 1998 and 2004...

Indeed. 'Loyalty' to the club now has an expiration date, which is why they should change the name to 'popularity points'. The marketing dept. will be excited by the alliteration as well.

Never mind those of us who were there to actually witness us get relegated in 76-77!! (Although I can't claim continuous attendance at all times between then and now).

I agree the LP scheme is not reflective either of long-standing attendance by many. I suppose there is no ideal way to do it, apart from the current way of keeping it limited to members - but if they accept new members next season, then you are still opening it up to potentially less frequent attenders). My biggest bugbear will be if ST holders are still allowed to sell on their tickets for the last game via Stubhub. You'd hope that none (or very few) would want to do that anyway given the occasion but there are bound to be some who see it as a profiteering opportunity.
All I do know is that when they announce the on sale dates, I am going to block my calendar out for the morning the last game goes on sale (if I qualify under whatever criteria are applied), and put a big note in to remind me to work from home that day, so I can sit with multiple browsers open getting stressed out watching the non-moving wheel.

Edit : Maybe they could take date of membership into account, but I doubt they would do that.

Last 5 years is fair I think and is a big enough spread. The moaning on here when there wasn't a cut off was huge.

Yep, it used to be that fans could live off their hundreds of loyalty points not allowing newer supporters the chance to break the mould.

There isn't a perfect system that will make everyone happy. Apart from this season it has been easy to build up loyalty points.

Let's not also forget the last 5 years included AVB, Sherwood, Paulinho, Chiriches etc

I've been going since 1972 and I really hope that Cat As and the last game go to LPs next season.

I'm in the top 0.5% of 75-80k members.
Why should someone that buys a Bronze membership on the Sunday before tickets for the last game go on sale have the same chance as me of attending?

LPs is what the THST are lobbying for, and they have the club's ear - as much as anyone. But no harm in additional lobbying I'm sure.(And whilst anyone is lobbying, request that Stubhub profiteering is not allowed for the last game. Sorry if I am a broken record on this, but it is nothing more than legalised touting and should not be allowed for such a significant, historical and emotional game).
It's a real conundrum for the club, there is no easy solution. However my bet is that they won't want to alienate any members, regardless of LPs.
Wet Span this year apparently did a members ballot for the last game - whilst still encouraging new members to sign up in order to get in the ballot. I hope we don't do anything as mercenary as this, but a members ballot might be one solution. Either that or LPs. It is not going to be possible to mak everyone happy.
I think there should be a different arrangement for the last game, but I don't think they should limit all Cat As. Maybe the NLD, but I am undecided about that.
I am sure this will be a topic of debate throughout the forthcoming season.

The ballot's a good idea but based on one entry per loyalty point. That way somebody could join the membership scheme and have a chance but longer term members would have a better one.

There are going to be very few tickets for members the whole of next season not just the last game.Capacity down to 32000 and 25000approx season ticket holders leave 7000 seats probably 2-3000 going to away fans leaving 50000 scrambling for 5000 tickets at most per game.To me the fairest way is that everyone should have the opportunity to go to at least one game next season .The top 5000 should be able to chose first which game and then filter down so if you only bought membership this year you will get the worse game.If there are any tickets left after the first round then again it goes back to the top of the list.
