Everyone had a nice day today?

It hasn't bothered me much today. Only United fans at work, and none of them can say much these days. Haven't even heard anything from my gooner mates.

We're not at our best, but yeah, cliche and all, but when you've followed Spurs in the 90's it does require a fair bit to really get you down.

Also, group stage game. We'll probably qualify regardless. If not, it's not the end of the world. :p up the Spurs!

Think it shows how over rated the prem is because to be honest we are still just ahead of the likes of Everton and Man U

I’ve always found arsenal fans quite respectful, it’s the dippers who are clams.

Not my experience at all. Although weirdly most of them have stayed quiet this time. Usually they are all over my like a rash. By far the gobbiest fan base on the planet. Look at Gnabry posting “North London is red” the other day on Twitter. To be fair he scored four goals but he played about 5 times for Arsenal. It’s amazing the hatred their players have for us, even the fringe players. Can’t imagine Georges Kevin Nkoudou posting that if he scored 4 against them.

Yeah that tweet was weird. Arsenal seem literally to be a social media cult from top to bottom...

Btw, i watched the match at a pub with one of my closest mates, a Gooner....

Not much gloating from him, apart from saying the game, result and how we played was "very Arsenal-ly..."

Tuesday was still not as bad as being 3-0 up against United at half time and losing 3-5 at WHL.
Its why I grin when Glenn starts giving it all the "you don't want to do it like that" as a pundit.

Work in Islington, what joy! I decided a few weeks ago to try to take as much negative/angry emotion away whilst watching Spurs as I could and it's served me well so far. Can't get away from the fact that I love the club despite the grief I get year in year out so I've distanced myself from the reality. All the WhatsApp messages and 'banter' I take with a pinch of salt and laugh it off, a while ago it would've led to arguments and the verge of a fight with mates I've known for 30 odd years, just not worth the worry. Seen some good times and some really bad ones, 7-0 at Anfield, 0-5 at home to the Arse, 1-6 v Chelski, 1-7/1-6/1-5/0-4 v Saudi Sportswashing Machine plus quite a few cup shocks culminating with Tuesday night. I still care but don't care if that makes sense?! :(:confused::p:Do_O

Guess I'm all a little bit numb about the freakish result - plus of course as I've grown older and gotten a bit of perspective, I just don't spend as much time being angry and annoyed about poor results as I used to. Which, I have to say, is a big relief, especially at times like these.
What you mean is... when you started supporting Spurs, you were like a lovely new can of Sprite, brimful of fizzy pop and shining with colour.

Then over the years each loss just takes a little dig, a dent, the liquid seeps out of you, you get banged up, you're kicked around and the paint gets scraped off, you get stepped on, flattened bit by bit, until you're like that can in the middle of the A4, getting run over time and time again.

One more car goes over you and you just don't give a sh*t anymore, you're already completely flat.

Dipper in my blacking factory was full of commiseration and flailing attempts at positivity. Perhaps he planned it to annoy.

I Googled it.

Boot polish factory where 12-year-old dingdongens was sent to work, fixing labels to bottles of blacking, to help support his family. dingdongens had dreams of becoming a gentleman and was humiliated working with the rough men and boys at the factory.

I don’t do teletext or bookface or whatever’s! This place is my therapy group when it comes to the infliction of supporing Tottenham Hotspur FC

You lot have probably seen it, but I got my first bit of stick last night, mate sent to me:

"Just typed 'German gang bang' into PornHub and got the highlights to Spurs v Bayern"

Have to say, it is funny :(

That's a depressing take on it! :D Although in regards to Spurs, there's certainly an element of truth to it.

The initial optimism I had as a young kid supporting Spurs, when I genuinely thought we could win the league at the start of each season, is long gone - worn down by years of disappointment and bitterness over my team's repeted failures, an anger at the state of football in general and an increasing apathic feeling about what football means to me nowadays.

So yes, I guess I am flat :(
