I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

His wife/GF is quite heavily pregnant which he seems rightly delighted about on instagram. No idea however how his return to the team is faring.

All set up now for him playing a huge role in the Argentinian team in the summer. Jorge Sampaoli will love the way Lamela knows how to press. And will have no problem leaving the likes of Dybala out of the team.

So his wife/GF is heavily pregnant? Lamela so badly injured with hip problems that he apparently needed two operations and couldn't play football for a year. Hmmmmm?

Clearly part of his recovery work.

Welcome back Coco. This could be like a new signing, but I worry how long it's going to take him to reach the first teams level of competitiveness, if he even can.

Erik Lamela playing role in helping young Tottenham star settle into life in the first team

The two Argentines appear to have struck up a friendship

Erik Lamela may have been out of action for Tottenham Hotspur for almost a year, but he's still been helping out the team.

The 25-year-old has not pulled on a Spurs shirt since last October in a League Cup tie at Liverpool. He has struggled with injuries to both hips which required two operations towards the end of last season.

The midfielder is expected to return to full first team training in the coming days and in the mean time he appears to have struck up a friendship with one of Tottenham's summer signings, and fellow Argentine, Juan Foyth.

The duo have begun turning up on each other's social media feeds, sharing a meat-laden barbecue with another summer signing, Fernando Llorente at one of their homes last week, and on Monday both seemed intent on teasing each other during the day.

Lamela mocked the 19-year-old in his Instagram Story because he claimed he had beaten him 4-0 on FIFA 18 in the video below and then Foyth returned the favour by trying to put off the Argentina international finishing whatever he was doing on his phone, shown in the video at the top.

With players often struggling to settle in new countries and Lamela having faced a nightmare time with his hips, it appears that both Spurs players might just end up helping each other get through a tough period in each of their Tottenham careers.

Still not sure why we bought Foyth, but Pochettino is quietly increasing the number of his fellow countrymen at Spurs. With Lamela, Foyth and Gazzaniga, the Argentines are now the joint biggest foreign contingent at Spurs, along with Belgians and French, with 3 players each. Remember, we also bought Fazio before this. Don't be surprised if we buy more Argentines in future. Just hope we will buy more established Argentines rather than the youngsters.

Probably because Foyth looks an excellent prospect, seems to have good positioning and passes the ball very well.

Exactly, odd comment by @Spurs7891

- We play 3 at back, which means Jan, Toby & Sanchez
- Not many CBs will come to a club where you need to displace Jan or Toby
- Foyth is young enough to be willing to wait on his opportunities, and we already know most players truly get Poch's system in 2nd year.

Easily could see us getting more argentine players because Poch will naturally have more contacts there, and Argentine players will likely be more aware of Poch's status as a coach.

Bold statement...

You didn't see him against Barnsley then, when he showed just what an outstanding prospect he is.
