Different rules for Germany?

Bedfordspurs

Martin Peters
maybe this is the wrong place for this but in germany they seem to be able to sign for another in country club on a free on January and also hold a press conference to announce it

Is mainly when theyvsigbfod Bayern but it happens almost every year it seems

Anyone know if they have different transfer rules?

Most countries have different arrangements. Brazil for example have no transfer windows at all - clubs can buy and sell at any time.

Think it's us who have different rules to other European clubs not the other way around.

Right now Can can agree a deal with Juve and announce but not City, this is an FA rule that he can't speak to a club in English league until x days (think 2 weeks) prior to the end of their contract but only applies for English based players

Thats what I was wondering.

I though it was an UEFA arrangement

It is - UEFA wide you can agree to leave 6 months prior to the end of your contract. We did not like this so had the extra rule for internal transfers on top of this. So any non English League to English League is 6 months, otherwise its X weeks.

(*unless you are Liverpool - see Ings).
