Don't believe that for a second. Vorm despite being a back up, is prepared to be paid a sixth of Lloris? Very unlikely. The pay off for blatant lack of playing time means he will be on more, no doubt about that. Sissoko I don't believe either and I would be very surprised if we had anyone breaching the 100k a week in flat wages.

Same agent as Walker (have I said that somewhere else a few times? ;))...the club won't sell them both same window unless he aggravates for a move hard. I think next summer if he goes at all...

Have to say you've been right on Rose all along. The interview he did easier this summer was strange, very strange looking back although we could more easily write it off as helping out his mate Jenas at the time. Your point was though, why is he doing it at all.

This just sucks. Even if you think he's got fair points and is just being brutally honest, he's showing he doesn't give a brick about the club to do this on the eve of the season. The amazing trick he and his agents have pulled is that they have got a load of Spurs fans saying he has a point. We've had one of the most together clubs over the last two years. Everyone pulling in the same direction, fans, coaching staff, players, board, and Rose is completely doing away with that and people don't seem to mind.

The quote that makes me laugh the most is 'we signed Van der Vaart under Harry, yeah we finish higher under Mauricio but we still need signings!' ....I almost cannot believe that he believes the brick that's coming out of his mouth. He cannot be so thick as to realise that maybe the reason we do better under Poch is because he has a more defined idea of players he needs to play his system, drills and coaches them effectively and that allows us to compete against clubs with better finances.

I'm sure his agents think they are being really clever with this, but they really didn't have to have Danny sign his contract last year when he talked about being at the club until he was an old man. Really low. I have no idea how Poch deals with this but quite honestly I would banish Rose to the reserves and sell him next summer. He can screw up his World Cup year, and for anyone that thinks it's harsh, he didn't need to go to the Sun. He wants out, he knows exactly what he is doing. I think with Walker we were ultimately fair and probably would have done the same for Rose next year (or given him a bigger contract as we enter the new stadium), now Rose has screwed that.

We have seen and heard widespread reports that players are not particularly happy with mid-table wages for being in the top 2/3 in the league. And why should they be? We have maybe 1 more season of winning nothing before the clamour to leave will be tremendous, regardless of the manager.

not even mid table wages

there are players in mid table and lower earning more than Dele, Eriksen and Kane.

the manager and players have truly been magnificent for the last couple of years. The club has to decide if they want to keep this side together. If the club doesnt want to join the buying madness and pay crazy transfer fees, then at least pay the players we have a better salary

right now i would take care of Dele, Kane, Eriksen and Alderweireld. These 4 would be near impossible to replace and so deserve the biggest salaries.

West Ham and Palace have players that earn more than ours.. Zaha signed a new contract on over #100k a week and so did Chicarito

No oen has a clue what our wages are only the total we spend

What we do know is that generally as a club we pay below market rate

I understand he wants to join #Chelsea or #ManUtd if Spurs let him leave. No indication they will do that yet. This hasn't helped matters.

Good luck with trying to go Chelsea. Never ever going to happen unless they were to offer over double his market value so we felt we were getting one over Chelsea. We will not deal with them regarding player sales under any normal circumstances, of that I am very sure.

I'd heard that until he signed his new contract last season, Eriksen was getting paid less by us than Chelsea were paying Rufus Loftus Cheek. It just shows how unsustainable current salaries are and how difficult it would be for us to compete with the richest clubs.

A lot's been posted since I last looked in this thread, but was it mentioned that Danny's agent is also his uncle as well as being Kyle Walker's agent?

He's just following a script that his agent has given him. The reasons he has given are a smokescreen for a desire to get a fudging huge pay rise.

Agents take a cut when a player moves clubs. Rose has been with us for a long time and his value will never be higher than it is now. If his agent does not force a move for him in the next few windows, his big payday will have passed.

he clearly said he is 27 and so far has won nothing. Maybe the project at Spurs will take longer to bear trophies, and he feels at 27 he would rather join a team that can win trophies now

and of course be paid 150k a week at the same time...win win

There were a few of us who questioned the actual motive for what Rose did on 5Live and they were then shouted down by people saying it wasn't a problem and he should be praised for his candid and refreshing approach to an interview. It would be most interesting to see if those people now feel his candidness is something to be celebrated given the timing of his latest diatribe and the likely effect on the other squad members.

I do have a fair amount of sympathy for the club on this one, the wages are going up so ridiculously quickly that if you take on Young, or Inexperienced players that you cant keep up.

Ali August 2016 wages going rate 20k
August 2017 going rate 80k
August 2018 going rate 160k

So unless you offer a new contract every month he will always be underpaid (relative)

However Rose has been a complete prick, he could have done that interview and left out
Googling players names, the players and strategy that got us here isnt good enough?
Ill never forgive the fans for the way they reacted about the contract, All teams have D*ckhead fans, just wait until you're at Utd and score a own goal v city.

If he doesn't move in the next year his chance of a mega pay deal will have passed. Everything else is just fluff to excuse his behaviour.

How can you say that? There are loads of players in their 30s who are paid £££ and not all of them because they've been out of contract.....
