Whether that's true or not, that's not even close to what Dortmund would want for him. If Dembélé went for £80m, there's no way Pulisic is going for anything less than that.

Pulisic broke into the Dortmund first team in January 2016 as a 17-year-old, and has already made 97 appearances for the club, providing 12 goals and 20 assists.

According to Kicker, Spurs have made him a top priority this summer, hoping to add depth to their forward line and beat United, the team he supported as a club, to Pulisic’s signing.

Although Heung-Min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen currently hold a monopoly over the three attacking midfield spots at White Hart Lane, back-ups are said to be a concern.

Erik Lamela has failed to impress in his five seasons at the club since a £26m move from Roma, while £25m January signing Lucas Moura played just six Premier League games in his first half season with Spurs.

The bid for Pulisic is almost as much as Spurs paid for Lamela and Lucas combined, and would be the second-highest fee ever paid for a teenager, behind Kylian Mbappe’s £162m move to PSG.

The American played for Brackley Town’s academy while living in England for a year as a seven-year-old, before moving back to the States to his Pennsylvania home.

He made the switch to Germany in 2015, and has gone on to represent his country 21 times so far, scoring an impressive nine goals.

Former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp was thought to be keen on bringing Pulisic to current club Liverpool, while United, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have also been linked.

Lazy, lazy brick. Don't know why toss like this annoys me so much but it does.

These conning fudgers are somehow paid pretty good money - I know a couple of guys who have worked for various red-tops over the years and they did very well out of it - but ass-hat 'journos' like this are so much worse than the mongs down the pub spouting ill-informed drivel.

Of all the arse-splatter in that piece, it’s him describing three guys having a monopoly that’s irritated me the most.
 
I get Pulisic from Dortmund and Perisic from Inter mixed up.

Perisic is the old one who plays for Croatia, while Pulisic is the young one who hasn't really hit the international scene yet

We have a good team already. We need some extra stardust. If Poch wants this guy, let's go balls out. £70 million, while a lot, should be recoverable with the sales of Jansen, Llorente, Sissoko, Onomah and other fringe players. We need to exchange top quality for dubious quantity.
