That was when the Tories had a reputation for competence. They were always known as being competent but evil (compared to Labour's well-intentioned but incompetent). But now after Covid, Truss and the crumbling national infrastructure, they have nowhere to go. Incompetent and evil.

    Good places in Turkey.

Isn't it political? Conservatives (Erdoğan loyalists) use Türkiye, whereas liberals (the opposition) use Turkey? Like Iran (regime) vs Persia (opposition).

I hope they've got someone good to p/x, as their record fee paid for a player is only £6.8m.

    Japhet Tanganga

TBH though Milan had Tomori and Loftus-Cheek in their team last night, who had similar trajectories to Tanganga, so it's not that far fetched. Chris Smalling was always awful, but has also made a career for himself at Roma.

That's the driver though, isn't it. The Americanisation of the game and the ambition to be able to have ad breaks.

Some news about the big man: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68874904 Hopefully this wont effect his parallel role as Famous Spurs Fans Club President

    VAR: Sponsored by Chelsea

Moving to 'plays', like in American sports, rather than having a game of flow, is the only way to do it. It's about deciding we want a game that's about stats, rather than one about emotion.

It can happen - it depends which side (front or back) is naturally weaker. Or you also strain your thigh by shooting (i.e. kicking the ball as hard as you can) when either cold or fatigued, so maybe that?

A thigh injury means he's likely overdone it sprinting, its not an impact thing

Does us a favour for next season - him being able to rest over the summer rather than burn himself out at the Euros

Probably related, i.e. he's been carrying something for a while that's been impairing him

    Rule changes in football

Replays are a bit of my favourite buttplug anyway and have been for decades. Better distribution of finance through the pyramid should be done strategically, not by lottery. Cup draw windfalls are a bit of a 'levelling up fund' plaster to treat a decapitation.

Religion and politics is a sliding scale. I dont disagree France go to far, but we have the opposite problem: 1) Religion run schools 2) Spiritual lords (the only country in the world that allows this other than Iran) 3) Church enormous land ownership 4) Church funding of fossil fuels and plastics

France just have a policy of active secularism, rather than tolerance. It's been like that since the French Revolution. Ataturk's Turkey was a bit the same. It's just part of their national identity, that no outward signs of religion are allowed in certain contexts.

Two nuclear nations led by religious zealous running quasi-fascist regimes. The only outcome of escalation at this point is mutually assured destruction. Both need full-scale internal uprisings to bring a bit of liberalism and humanity back to the top of their societies.
