Victor Wanyama

I think we underestinate Bournemouth at our peril; If Wanyama really is fit as @Stouty says then it would be great to get him involved vs Bournemouth; we might need his protection...
I agree on the risk of underestimating Bournemouth. Disagree on what follows from that. Dropping Dier who is match fit and in form for a player that's far from both is the riskier move imo.

Personally, i would start Dier and bring Wanyama on from the last 30 mins (not necessarily for Dier directly btw) if we are winning and don't look vulnerable.
I would want him to get some minutes to build up his fitness for the upcoming games.

I dont think he'll lose much fitness in a few weeks but will have lost sharpness. An hour on Saturday would be perfect preparation for the next few weeks.

"We are concerned about his situation," the Tottenham manager said of Wanyama. "We must wait for when he sees the specialist and then we'll see what happens. But of course after some time without him involved in the training sessions and with the team, we are concerned. But now we need to wait next week to have a more clear idea of what's going on."

Pochettino continued: “At the moment there’s no decision about if we are going to move in January. We’re talking with Daniel [Levy, the chairman] and Steve [Hitchin, the chief scout] and are focused on every single position on the pitch, trying to be vigilant and aware of some things we need to do.

“But at the moment there’s no decision. We’re happy and expect Victor and Mousa to recover. We’ll see when the moment arrives if we need to strengthen the squad or not.”

Usually cartilage is straight forward.

Hmmmm...and the recovery uncomplicated. I do wonder though, being a rich high performance sports club, why we have to wait until next week to see a specialist. ?

last time i asked about a meniscus injury on here i was pointed out to the fact that there are now options to grow/heal cartilage. perhaps the club is taking this route now and focusing on longer term care, beyond just simple healing.
