*** OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Borussia Dortmund ***

What a great result ! Kane was on fire, we manfully dug in when we had to, and got the all important third after Dortmund were denied their equalizer. Well done Poch and the lads, we have learnt and grown again, COYS !!!

That made it worth getting up at 4.45 am for.

Lucky with their disallowed goal and then to make it 3-1 straight afterwards.

Played better first half, tired towards the end, Poch as usual making his subs far too late, 83rd minute before he took off Son who wasn't the only one absolutely knackered. Kane needs a good rest after that.

Was Vert's red a second yellow or straight red? Lucky he only misses one game if it was a second yellow. Goetze tricked the ref the fat little pr!ck.

Also, thought Aurier was a bit ropey in the first 20 minutes but looked good after that. He's a very good passer, he's basically a quicker Trippier (who also uses the ball well).

Eriksen ran 12,71 km today, more than any other player. Dembele (!) second with 11,97 km. Then Davis and Dier, while Yarmolenko was their best with a meagre 11,48 km.

Our team average was 11,39 km, theirs were 10,78 km.

We fudging out ran them.

Definitely the cliche of "a game of two halves" applies here more than any other time. BVB appeared to come out with half the energy they had in the first, perhaps they thought they could win it in the first half and expended too much early on. What I did see was that our intensity jumped up in the second half.

Harry Kane was immense and has to have proved his doubters wrong (those that were still harping on about scoring in top competitions). Eriksen grew into the game, Son quietened down whilst Sanchez had a real mixed bag.
Vertonghen probably got himself in trouble for the red, lost the ball under his own feet, but it wasn't a violent action.

What subs would you have made and when?

In the second half Dortmund created a couple chances from/after corners, other than that we were in decent control I thought.

Maybe the idea is to give the rest of our team space by having the opposition doubled over laughing?

Haha.

Tbf other then the attempted finish that was a great run. In sissokos defence he didn’t hide and demanded Eriksen play him through... he’ll get better imo.

We defended magnificently, Hugo made one save.
They were all over the place at back, lots if pretty patterns in midfield with little penetration.

Well you kind of have to when you have 33% possession
