Danny Rose

I guess there were lots of opinions about his lack of self control and defensive lapses, and to be honest they were probably valid at the time. He has improved beyond expectation in most aspects of his game.

oh definitely, nothing wrong with not rating a player but it went far beyond that for Rose for quite a few posters, some of whom are very quick to call others out when talking down players they rate...

id like to think examples such as this would teach people to be a little more patient with young players but nothing ever changes they just move on to the next

I heard that French chap Philippe 'Arsene' Auclair on the guardian football weekly podcast saying that Milner was the best LB in the Prem and better LB than Rose. The other podders even called him out on it. Le Twunt.

Absolutely - I stand by my comments I've made about him in the past.

He's always had the ability but needed to do a lot mentally. Both him and Poch have done a fantastic job there.

I'm not convinced he has even seen Rose play due to his blinkers... Milner has done well but isn't a patch on rose

I think he showed how he's worked to control his temperament recently, last night Chelsea were trying to wind him up, but he just kept his cool while still managing to be aggressive.

He's one of the main players for setting the tone. Things might be a bit lethargic, then BOOM! He goes and crunches someone, or presses like a maniac, or goes on a powerful run. It gets the crowd going and the team follows.

I do worry a little about him later on, he really seems to be in the wars every game, some hard tackles and eats a lot of fouls against him as well.

Just love his attitude, saw someone on social media refer to him as Danny "fudge you" Rose ... thought it was appropriate

I think he has 8 now so only two more away from another ban.

He's massively combative so it's entirely unsurprising. I think it's a fair exchange for the drive and passion he brings to the game. It must really fire our team up to look left and see Rose running the line like the m*****f***ing Terminator.

Thankfully we've got Davies who's a decent understudy. Impressive that Rose has made Davies seem such a step down.

I'm hugely impressed in Rose's maturity this (and last) season. Poch and his team have really sorted his head out, and I think he (just) stays on the right side of the line.

As one of the commentators said on Wednesday night, his pace and acceleration make some fouls look much worse than they are. If he comes from nowhere at full speed and gets tripped, it looks spectacular.
