Mighty Spurs vs. Emirates Marketing Project

City have shown enough to warrant a great deal of attention from us in the second half, perhaps even to the extent of subbing Dier on for either Wanyama or Sissoko (with Alli moving higher up) in the second half. Wanyama, because he's on a yellow - Sissoko, because then Dier would move into Alli's spot and offer cover for Rose, who's also on a yellow. The key to our relative success in muffling them (despite some exceedingly dangerous balls in behind us that just lacked a finishing touch) seemed to me to be Wanyama's gut-bursting work in midfield, so that d*ckhead Marriner giving him a yellow while letting Otamendi off on half a dozen means we have to be careful about how we employ him.

We've been relatively fluid, and this time, Alli's taken the open goal that he usually gets presented with once a game. ;) It's been a good performance all-round, Walker's kept Sterling admirably quiet, and all we need in the second half is more of the same.

I think more a case of using our pace to player their shoulders and just not releasing it quick enough

Yes, our passing when we're excited :) when they could release a goal scoring chance, seems about 50-50. When normal passes are 95-5. A touch more composure and we'd be lethal.

As good as we could have hoped

The tactics have been great and the players have been professional to a man

The offsides are annoying but if it's because their further out then there is space behind to exploit

Outstanding first half display. Have we got the energy levels to keep it going. Hopefully they will be just as tired after Wednesday's match. Still think we need a 3rd to win it though

What a half! Yes, too many offsides, but they're close and the through balls were mostly on. It's a fine line.

Not convinced by Sissoko - seems fine one moment, off-pace the next. But he's been part of a great team performance.

Guardiola will make changes at half time. I think Poch caught him off-guard with our setup. Hopefully we've got enough options to deal with it. Janssen, a bit of Dier, maybe even Winks (is he on the bench?) to try and retain possession in the Emirates Marketing Project half.

COY-Son!

Agree with Dier coming on around the hour mark. Dont want us going down to 10 men that would be a killer. Hoepfully we can keep this going for another 48 mins
