Always hedge... better to get something even if it pains you to stick £50/£100 on Liverpool

How can you insure against that? £300 on Liverpool at evens means you get your money back either way. All you can do is minimise your loss, not guarantee a win?
 
If I'd put £50 on Liverpool pre-game I'd have £50 'winnings' right now and could cash out the money I'd deposited to bet. I wouldn't have £0

When I was in the pub and Dortmund were 2-0 after 10 minutes I said I was going to put £10 on Liverpool to qualify at ~20/1. I would have £200 now. I let my mates talk me out of it.

I really am a stupid clown shoe and it's hard not to feel the universe isn't against me. I don't need that money to pay rent or child support etc, I'm a batchelor living with my parents but £600 would have given me a really nice little city break or something. I deserve a holiday.

I'm tinkled off with myself as I'm swayed too easily by other people.. I know doing the bet was the right decision and I knew at the time but when I said it to my mate I suddenly became 'nah, dortmund should win, I won't bother..'

So annoyed with myself. (and a bit with dortmund as well)

The final two games I have s@&m to draw and Spurs to win.
I'm very confident I won't have to hedge on our game:).

The bet is worth £754.

Do I go big on a s@&m win as a safety net?

Bet £50 before the match takes place. Then bet £50 in-play (During the game) and get that £50 back if it loses. Worth about £30 guaranteed profit by matched betting it.

I just did this

If you read that link, it goes through it all how to make about £30 -£35 from it by backing and laying it. You need to kind of understand matched betting to do it and also need to have some money in the bet exchange to cover your liability there. Then you're good to go.
