Jimmy Greaves MBE

This is devastating news. The word "severe" is very very worrying. Wishing Jimmy and his family all the best.

A total legend.

Very worrying as he's in ITU. It doesn't mean he won't pull through, but I doubt he'll be turning up to the ceremony in 2 weeks time.

Too young to have seen him play but have had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and the man is an absolute gent along with being a Spurs legend. Get well soon Jimmy.

hope he pulls through, my old man thought he was the best natural striker he'd ever seen, so pleased he finally got his world cup medal a few years ago.

Your Dad is bang on, I was lucky enough to have seen his first and last goal ( and most in between) for Spurs and (imo) he is the best striker I have ever seen anywhere. He was my first childhood hero and I pray he comes through this.

From BBC Spurs page :- Out of intensive care

"His family say the 75-year-old is able to sit up in bed, adding that while he is "by no means out of the woods there is room for cautious optimism."
