The Official 2019/20 Premier League Thread

Just waiting for someone to suggest rehiring Poch now that the season is going to get wiped out.

Actually.........

All elite football in England has been suspended until at least 3 April as a result of the spread of coronavirus.

All Premier League games, EFL fixtures and matches in the FA Women's Super League and Women's Championship have been postponed.

The Premier League said action would resume on 4 April "subject to medical advice and conditions at the time".

Given the quality of our football recently, does that mean our games are still on?

Well, Scudamore made the point that is was essential to finish the league completely on time during Lasagnagate, and the 39th game was rejected because of the sanctity of two games against everyone home and away (despite the offer of dollops of cash). What other choice is there that doesn't undermine the league principles?

An eighth Premier League club confirm self-isolation measures: West Ham United say personnel who came into contact with Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, who tested positive for coronavirus, are quarantining as a precaution. They say they have “already taken a number of precautionary measures”, including deep cleans at the club’s training grounds as well as the London Stadium. Arsenal, Bournemouth, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester, Emirates Marketing Project, Watford and now West Ham United have at least one employee in self-isolations.

Shows how hopeless we are. Our players can't even catch a virus.

Sensible decision really.

Another point worth considering is what UEFA decide to do with the CL / EL.

If the CL doesn’t get completed then might make it appear less extreme for national leagues to also be voided.
