The positives

We have some excellent players, several more very good players. Get them back, sort out 2-3 of the more glaring weaknesses in our squad and i think we'll start looking rather good again.

Right now is bad, though nowhere near as bad as it seems some are thinking.

The task for Mourinho was always going to be tough. Losing Kane, Son, Sissoko and Davies for longer periods made it much harder. The other injuries added to that.

Go back to where we were when he took over, factor in the injuries we've experienced since. What would realistic aims for the current season be? If people honestly think top four, CL quarter finals or a cup trophy were realistic I'll just have to hold my hands up and disagree.

Only 3 weeks ago I was sure of top 4. We lose son and it changes everything as it literally roostered up the Plan B... we’re now on plan Z and it will Arguably get worse before it gets better imo

Top 4 was a stretch before Son was injured. It would be a miracle now. We'll fight for 5th and probably lose out. But...we can focus on one game a week, and with Kane and others coming back...never say never.

Positives - our expectations are so much higher now. We didn't get knocked out of the group stages. With some stability, our players will look a lot better. In one competition only we should be able to play a more stable side.

Maybe we can get some games cancelled and back load them for when the cavalry are fit.

:D

Great post.

I don't have to spend any more money following this complete rabble in Europe any more this season (and probably not next season either).
