Did you see Kane playing youth football? Have you seen Parrott play youth football? I have seen both. Parrot is no more guaranteed to make it than Kane was back then.

I reckon the "he's not ready to play" talk is to take some pressure off the kid. I think he's going to feature, but he's obviously not going to be able to carry the team as a striker. Jose also said Sessegnon couldn't play left back yet, two weeks later he played him there in consecutive games.
 
Everything I have read suggest Jose has him on some individual striker training sessions, would suggest he isn’t ready but they are working on it.
Can’t find the link now but sure it was Alistar Gold or of that ilk
 
More to being ready for the PL than being a position specialist, you need to know the plays, the defensive marking schemes, how the brickhousery works.
 
My wife is Irish, my son half Irish so any Irish lads on here dont take this the wrong way. But you guys got to lay off this kid, your putting way to much pressure on the boy.

This is coming from someone who if you reread the champions league final thread from last year advocated putting him in the starting line up and bring Kane on in the second half. But really all this talk this season about this lad I think we are getting close to another marcus edwards situation.

It's not limited to Irish fans. The reaction of fans on social media (and forums) when he is not in the team is not healthy and won't do him any good.
 
I remember back in the 80s there was a lad called Norman Whiteside, large unit at 17, Irish international, joined MU. But I think his career was cut short due to injuries-i don't want to see that happening here.

And if Jose says he isn't ready, then he isn't.

Why not shove Toby up top - Sheffield Wednesday did that with great effect in their FA cup, back in the 80s. Paul Warhurst !

Warhurst was early 90’s, he was a revelation, think he even got in to the England squad as a striker as well? However he was about mid 20’s when he changed position and was a pretty mobile player if I remember rightly. I don’t think any of our CB’s fit that bill.
 
Like most of us I was just a club player but I remember for me and my mates the step up from youth club football to mens was massive, not just the physical side but the pace, movement and intimidation took a couple of seasons to come to terms with. I understand it's a far higher level and that preparation work would have been done with the lads but I believe the age level games after the academy level aren't helping players are they are not being stretched.

Wasn’t Sutton a centre back originally too?
I get the impression Dier could play with is back to goal but wouldn’t be able to move much.
Stick Tanganga up there, he looks decent all the ball and he can fudging run around a bit too!
