Danny Rose

You just got a crush on Ben!
He always puts a shift in and is mainly knocked because of what says and not how he plays!
Is that a new pitch fork you bought yourself there?

Wrong on both counts mate, it does not bother me about WHAT he says ( footballers are not the most intelligent of the species ) and as for putting a shift in he has not done that for a long time now.

Wish we had more with his passion and drive 'who want to play'.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...Mourinho-Danny-Rose-bust-big-tension-air.html - (Its probably a load of rubbish. Daily Mail speak for 'they spoke to each other during training!)
'Some' footballers are not the most intelligent, not all.

We talk about players stealing a living, well this guy has been doing it for years.
He has never been 'stealing a living'. His quality has reduced over the past two or three years but I've not ever had an issue with his commitment.

When a club has a chairman telling a player directly that he's not getting a new contract but then also wanting an unrealistically high fee for that same player this is the type of situation that you end up with.

I think some confuse "stealing a living" with fighting your corner and caring about things surrounding you and your career. I'd rather this than all the more passive types sitting on the bench for no physical reason.

Personally, I've never had an issue with Rose's commitment. Even against Liverpool at home, he was absolutely terrible but he was trying.

The chip on his shoulder and the self styled "tell it like it is" attitude tinkle me off and if he has been disrespectful to the manager, I hope he's sent packing. That said, it's hard to put much faith in a Daily Mail story.

He's hot-headed. If someone upsets him he has it out with them. Not necessarily a bad thing because at least we all know where we stand. He probably felt he's already cooked his goose and had nothing to lose. But whilst he may have gotten away with his outbursts against Poch I doubt Jose will be so patient.

The sooner he moves on the better for all parties, but if the Daily Wail story is true then he's just made that even more difficult than it already was.

As in, who else will want to risk bringing in such a prickly pear for their squad?

Jose will love to see a bit of fight in a player. As do I!
Jose will be pleased he did not prefer to be at the latest photoshoot for his new product launch or latest hairdo.
WE need more "prickly pears" and stop mollycoddling all the prima donnas in the game.

Everyone has their price. The problem is we have a track record of wanting more for players than other clubs are willing to pay, and then us being left with those players for a good while longer....meaning we pay unnecessary wages, use up places in teh squad and dont have the cash to buy replacements

I wouldnt bet against Rose being at Spurs til his contract runs out in c.18 months teim

Indeed. I don't think Danny Rose is good enough for us any more, just as Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama are also no longer good enough for us. The key with players who are no longer good enough is to move them on at the earliest possible moment instead of retaining them as their value drops. As with so many other issues at our club, this is probably solved by having a good Sporting Director who understands the value of these sorts of things as opposed to purely the absolute £'s in / £'s out

so many of you crapping on rose. He has never been as bad as you are saying. His commitment is always there, otherwise he would not be upset for not playing in the first place. he is still a decent player and I really dont understand why all of you are getting on him. I would much rather have Rose in at Left back than Davies, Sessengon or an out of position Tanganga.

Seems to be open season on here for all to just moan about every single player. Why is Verts getting such a free ride, his contract runs out in the summer just like Eriksen, and he is playing pretty bang average as well. But he gets not of the hate that CE gets. Im not saying he should. I am just saying you guys all seem to have targets to hate on.

Absolutely spot on. Great post.

I'm surprised by how a DoF is now widely accepted to be an asset in England. 5-10 years ago, they were seen as just a baby step on the scum scale above agents. "A manager should have full control" was the common refrain. 15-20 years ago when Spurs first introduced the model, it was seen as absolutely ridiculous way of doing things and we were often slated for using the model. How times change.

For so many reasons that many "experts" are now understanding, a DoF is needed at football clubs. Sadly and ironically, the absence of one at our club in the last few years has really hurt us.

I won't touch the Jan or Eriksen points, I think they are a lot more complicated.

I agree with you on rose, but what I will also say is that I never bought into him being as good as he was made out to be.
Good yes, great, not so sure.
Now he isn’t toeing the party line and there's been a small drop in form (imv not all his fault) and he is being measured against something he never was, making his form look worse than it is.
It's really sad to see a team that we all loved and almost revered now be written off as duds, has beens and shirkers.
Jan, Hugo and Rose have been here through Harry, AVB, Tim, poch and now Jose, it shouldn't be ending like this.
