Danny Rose

For me yes he was, he had a bit of a cult following because he used to kick brick out of opposing wingers, truth be told he could not get close to most of them though.

Interesting. Fenwick, I remember being dogbrick even before he broke his leg up at Old Trafford in the League Cup (I think) which was a disappointment considering he was an England international. That said, we had a lot of brick in full back positions in the 80s and 90s.

Indeed we did ( a bit like CB"s) As for Fenwick the only reason he was here was that he was a drinking/singing buddy of El Tel.

My take is that he’s very, very bitter about the wages he’s on. A lot of them probably feel like this, they’ve given the club their peak years and for what? No trophies, no parity of wages with their peers.

It doesn’t mean he has a right to air his dirty linen in public though. He just seems to be more vocal about it than the others like Jan, Alderweireld and Eriksen. My main issue with him is that he won’t leave and is infecting others with both his toxic views and his atrocious performances.

Thanks for three / four years of great service Danny, but you ruined things with that Sun article. I think it’s best for everyone if you leave now.

That's a great post and exactly how I feel about it. No doubt some of these lads have a right to be tinkled that they were getting paid less than players of equal or lesser ability were getting. But either f**k off and do what you like or stay and be professional. Don't tell us that you're gonna run down your contract and take shots at the club at every opportunity. His performances this season have also been abysmal.

I'm starting to take a strong dislike to Rose. And, while he was underpaid, it's not like he was seriously exploited or anything. He signed the contracts, he's made a bloody good living, he's played for one of the top teams in England and he played in some massive games as well as having an England career. If he wants to swap places me me and millions of other fans, I'm sure we'd take his hand off.

“We’re all starting from the same starting point or, at least, I hope we are,” Rose said. “It’s very good [under Mourinho]. I had the privilege of working under Mauricio for five and a half years and now, I have to be honest, I never thought I would be managed by José Mourinho at Tottenham.

“That’s credit to the club, how well they’ve progressed, and to get someone like José has been brilliant. He’s one of the most decorated managers of my lifetime, so it’s been a good start for the team and I’ve enjoyed it so far. He is a serial winner, so I imagine we will be looking to win the FA Cup and finish in the top four of the league.”

Nothing to see here.

“Who said he’s in control of the club?”

I'm afraid, yet again, there's something to see here.

Rose has no right to be tinkled off. He signed a new contract for more money, spent a year being injured and then started bitching about wanting more money.

An unfortunately prevalent attitude in that generation of something for nothing, workshy clams.

I’m not saying I agree with his stance, just outlining where he’s probably coming from.

You’re absolutely right. He signed a contract in September, got injured in January and then was bitching about a new contract that summer while he was still injured!

My problem is not that he wants to on a free, but rather like Eriksen he is just playing brick. In his case his mistakes have been directly responsible for quite a few goals against us.

Apparently, Sissoko is behind the whole windup! He allegedly left his payslip on the floor outside Danny’s locker!
