Jose Mourinho - SACKED

It is one of those appointments which seems controversial beforehand, because the incumbent is so popular, and so respected, but which seems 100% RIGHT as soon as it's done. Now there is a genuine anticipation about Saturday's game. We may not win it, but the players will have a very different attitude.....and I'll bet the vibe, the effort in training will be like night and day.

I don’t buy the manager has to win a pot to be seen to be successful bs. Poch will be warmly remember for the amazing job he did elevating us to regular champs league qualifiers. Mourinho said it himself opponents could see how good Poch’s spurs were.
But the team wasn’t refreshed and Poch was not the same since the champs league final. How Moura did not start the final still galls me.
Mourinho will be a different kettle of fish not Leadt because the team around him are very different- I’m looking forward to seeing the impact of Sacramento.
I watched the training video and there was a lot of hand shaking and head touching- you could see Mourinho has already got the love of the players. The change up in training alone will bring a lift. It will be interesting to see how the play changes- he is right that this is a good squad that had under performed for Poch but will they perform for him? I really want us to smash the hammers every time we play them, but more so now.COYS

I watched/read a lot of media last night/yesterday and there were a few things that popped

- Some of the pundits sounded just like this board, "shocking, he earned more time, football has changed for the worse, etc"
- Some including ex Arsenal players (Dixon), Berbatov, Gazza think Jose makes a ton of sense and is exactly what Spurs needs (Gazza said he'd be hugely excited as a Spurs player to have Jose come in)
- Piers Morgan is completely tinkled, that to me is a great indicator, he knows Jose can make us a threat (and Jose has never lost to them either)

You're talking about avb I take it, the guy who some say stabbed Jose in the back at Chelsea, that him and Jose didn't speak to each other for years, the one we sacked and replaced with Tim sherwood, the avb that is now racing cars the last time I heard.
That's who you use to make a point and I'm taking leap?
Jose Mourinho is a hugely divisive and controversial figure, can I say that, or is that taking a leap?
Like I said, do some research.
He's manager of Marseille.

I wonder if the opportunity of working with one of the worlds most successful coaches is a big enough challenge for our want away players to reconsider their positions or is it just about the money?

- Toby and Dier will probably rethink their views
- Jan never had an issue with Spurs, think it was with Poch
- Don't think Jose will want Aurier or Rose (he expects more tactical discipline from his defenders)
- Eriksen is the odd one out, not a classic Jose player but if he (like Toby) was just painted into a corner, this could be an out if both parties want it

My bet, two to stay, three to go

Call in last night with Gazza (real one, not our keeper), and he was clear, as a Spurs player he would have been raring to get to training, to play for Jose.

I love Poch and what he has done for us. However, over the last few months i had become frustrated and disillusioned with football. For my own mental health I try to avoid too much negativity (it sometimes takes its toll on me), so I exiled myself from here for a while - I am more a reader than a poster.

Unfortunately something needed to change. The club I love was beginning to drain me. I stopped enjoying my football.

This morning I have sat for 2 hours reading as much around Jose appointment as I could find.

What’s my conclusion?

I am genuinely excited for the future. I now feel that this is the best thing that could have happened to our club. For the first time in months I am looking forward to watching my team play.

COYS!

PS. Thank you Poch x

This sums things for me perfectly.

He's played 4-3-3 plenty too.

has he?
I’ve not seen that anywhere other than maybe united but I’m happy to be wrong
TBH I think he is tactically outstanding and that’s his BIG step up form Poch
His man management was outstanding too until he went to Madrid and had to deal with their egos
