Next Spurs Manager

For all the people that think "right off this season" no Europe next season .. just keep in mind the age of Kane and Son

If anyone thinks both of them will take a season out of Europe in the prime of their career ..

And if we need to replace one or both of them .. on top of the other changes, fudging mess.

It wouldn’t just be writing off this season though there is no coming back from this, the change needs to happen yesterday to firstly try and salvage this season which is just about still doable, and secondly to give the new man the January and summer windows to build for next season.

Keeping Pochettino for the season and giving him the jan/summer budget is playing chicken with next season, it’s over this is like being in a relationship where both have drifted apart but no one wants to admit it, the sooner the split happens the sooner both can move on with their lives.

We're 3 points from 5th, the season is more than salvageable from where we currently sit.

With a new manager yes with Pochettino no, the players gave up after the Bayern game they ain’t playing for him anymore, as soon as he has gone watch the performances and energy levels go through the roof.

If the future core of players have given up on him i would expect Levy to act, so until he does i would have to believe that is not the case.

3 points from 5th, but 11 points from 4th (who is City, which I can safely assume we won't catch)

So the real equation is

- A third of the way through the season, we need to make up a gap of 12 points +GD, while our form has only got us 14 points all season?

It's starting to be a real stretch to see anything salvageable

So that says to me as a supporter your threshold is top 4 and no lower?

To be fair City is not a fair comparison, it’s Leicester and Chelsea that are still just about catchable, by the end of the season City will be miles clear of the pair of them, if let this fester until Xmas or the new year Europa will be a minor miracle.

That was my point, it's not City, so the ask is

- Match Chelsea & Leicester's points +make up gap of 12 points +GD 25
- This when we have only scored 14 with a GD of +1 in first third of season?

The numbers/math is starting to look really ugly

Exactly with Pochettino it is not salvageable, look since March never mind this season, with a new man there is a slight hope if the change happens now, 6 more weeks of this and Europa will be getting out of sight, it’s reached the point of no return we are just prolonging the agony for both parties.

Look at our form, who honestly in you heart of hearts with the way we are playing do you see us getting anything from the players heads have gone, a new man comes in it will be a instantaneous transformation in energy levels and desire.

There is no flicking a switch to get what was once great back.

You just said a new man comes in and it’s instant drive and energy.... that’s flicking a switch isn’t it?

Mate, got to admire your optimism, but how do you see this?

- This isn't about playing everyone twice, that would only help you make up 3 points.
- You are talking about making up 12 points +GD of 25 now above matching results

So a little rounded out math
- Lets assume Chelsea and/or Leicester score the same amount of points per third for remainder of season (which is actually short changing them a little as season is 38, not 36 games)
- That would give us a target of 78 points with a GD probably in the range of 40+ (again super conservative on GD)

We have actually only bettered that level once on PL history, and in that season we had 4 losses all season (already matched that)..

The only math is we would damn near have to go on a record win run, go unbeaten for rest of season and still hope Chelsea & Leicester have a bad run as well.

well if Leicester maintain this
It would be there record run and better than their title winning run
The last time Chelsea had a run like they have currently they won the league
So maybe we can’t assume anything and just see what pans out

So that's it then after 5 seasons? One season outside the top 4 and it's thanks, see you later?

And people claim they aren't entitled

Outside top 10?

- Fans are entitled, but more importantly the club is a business, we didn't spend 1B to be out of the running for a CL spot in November
- And yes, that's how it works, you are expected to achieve more each year, not less, and certainly not a lot less.

So to equal 71 points, which got us CL last season, we would need to start scoring 2.2 points per game (currently 1.2), and one of Chelsea or Leicester would need to start scoring 1.7 points per game (currently 2.2).

We haven't spent £1bn on the team. You are measuring the quality of the team on the spend on the stadium.

So in answer to my question the answer is yes? After 5 good seasons, one bad one (or one bad half season in this case) is where you draw your line of support for the manager?
