I know we have just parked the bus but Liverpool have just lumped cross after cross. You'd have thought they had a bit more about them

Few of us were trying to explain that point.

They are a 1 trick team, but the trick is devastatingly effective. Bypass the midfield and get it forward quick. A tactic that's been good enough to win the Premiership more than once.

Can't agree with that. Defensively we've been very good. Distances between the lines has been perfect. We're restricting them to low percentage crosses.

Yeah our shape has obviously helped because Sanchez and Toby haven't been hung out to dry like in other games but we've been good defensively today. As good as I've seen in months.

It’s all a bit hot potato in midfield, which is no surprise given the personnel.

Given how much time we will have in the ball there is no need to have Erisken pretend to try and win the ball. Swap him for Moura who can at least press and offer an out ball / win a header. NDom too please.

good stuff from Gazzaniga.

Neville's called it right on the commentary. Wide midfielders were doing a job (or in Eriksen's case, trying to do a job) on Robertson and TAA at the start of the half, but it's all gone now. Robertson in particular has the freedom of the wing, which needs to stop.

Sissoko needs to be put wide on Robertson properly, with Eriksen either played more centrally to link defence and attack...or subbed for Ndombele.

Yeah for the 1st 10mins Son was an attacking threat and Eriksen seemed to be wider - this resulted in their FBs staying back.

Since then we seem to almost be letting them have the ball on both wings, which seems risky to say the least.

maybe our aim is to clog up the middle? Not sure it’s working.

You just know that won't happen.

Fair play to Poch changing from 4231 to this 433 at half time on Tuesday against Red Star. He used that second half as training for this game.
Unlucky that Lamela got injured or else he would be out there on the right instead of Eriksen. That is where we are weakest.
But Eriksen and Alli are working hard out of position for Poch's tactic.
Hopefully Son can get in behind their full backs in the second half

My word what a half ! That goal, but Gazzanigga playing like De Gea ! And everyone working hard...

Can we get the 'undeserved win' ?? Dang, another 45 minutes, but we better not let it all be like this - let's grab another goal !

COYS

What was that from Eriksen. Even the way he collect the ball seemed so awkward

we can’t waste chances to relieve pressure by just wasting the ball
