Paulo Dybala

How often does a club pay off the player, I agree they could freeze him out - but he would still get higher wages elsewhere.
Not sure but I think a loyalty bonus gets paid if you don’t request a transfer at a minimum. If we are the only taker / club he wants to join it might benefit them to offset some money to make it happen as opposed to pay him at least another years worth of wages.
If we do get him I think it will be quite an achievement and a sign we are finally thinking big!
*Is there another possibility than Kane has a parity clause so we being in Dybala on a little over 200k safe in the knowledge Harry gets taken care of admin free?

Latest from Kilpatrick though he does misreport Dybala's wages as after tax when he means before tax

Tottenham are still working on a sensational deal to sign Juventus’ Paulo Dybala. Juve are eager to sell Dybala to a Premier League club to raise transfer funds and free space on their wage bill and Spurs are relaxed about settling on a fee in the region of £65m. The 25-year-old striker is thought to earn close to £300,000-a-week after tax, however, and his exorbitant wage demands, as well as high agent fees and a complicated image rights arrangement, are making the transfer difficult, particularly given the tight timeframe.

Sources: Levy in talks today as Tottenham to offer stunning £130m for player in fees & wages

By Wayne Veysey

Daniel Levy will hold new talks today as Tottenham attempt to seal the sensational signing of Juventus playmaker Paulo Dybala, Football Insider can reveal.

The Champions League runners-up have turned their attention to prising the Argentina international from Italy before the transfer window shuts in what would be an extraordinary last-gasp deal.

Levy will not offer anywhere near that sum but is ready to hand the 25-year-old a five-year contract worth £250,000-a-week including some generous bonuses.

Getting a deal worth £130million over the line so late in the window will be extremely tricky for Tottenham and their long-standing chairman despite a genuine willingness to get it done, but he will fresh attempts during negotiations today.

Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear he is a big fan of his countryman and would regard him as an outstanding addition to his team, as Spurs also work on the loan signing of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona.

Tottenham have been in talks all summer about signing Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis but have failed to reach an agreement over the fee, and discussions have also taken place about signing Bruno Fernandes of Sporting Lisbon.

The possibility of signing Dybala, or Coutinho, is likely to be even more mouthwatering for the club, who are set to sell Christian Eriksen before the European windows shut at the end of the month.

An important matter that has to be solved quickly is related to the player's image rights, a matter that had already been in the air during the negotiations with United. The company which owns Dybala's image rights has advised Tottenham (there have been contacts yesterday) that they couldn't close a deal without Juventus involved in the process, or rather that they couldn't get Paulo's image rights without them. Should Tottenham find an agreement on salary and commissions with Dybala's agent, they still should have to find another agreement with this company (image star) that belongs to his former agent, Pierpaolo Triulzi.

If Man Utd couldn't offer enough money to secure the player then there is no way that we will. I accept that the player may have a preference to join us over Man Utd due to London, CL and a fellow Argentine in Pochettino, but Man Utd would probably offer a package £50k to £100k a week larger than ours and I doubt that Dybala likes London, the CL and Pochettino enough for it to cost him £50k to £100k a week!

We don't know he turned down United cos they never offered enough tbf thatsjust paper talk

It's doubtful his former agent even owns his image rights.
What happened was Dybala tore up his contract and got a new agent in 2017.
Nothing happened.
Then at the last minute in the United deal the old agent came in threatened to sue everyone for €40m.
Then what really tinkled United off was the new agent demanded 15m off United to negotiate with the old agent on their behalf.

Image rights are vital to United. They aren't a football club. They are a marketing company using football players to sell stuff.
What good is an advertisible asset to them when they can't use him to hawk companies wares without a court case etc.

Imagine Levy using that as an excuse to Poch. Poch is running a football team.
I think this type of future legal dispute would get Levy fully erect.
