Fernando Llorente

His presence in the buildup for the goal showed that he's not useless. Having someone like him for route 1 football isn't the worst thing in the world, but I can understand that he wants football.

Actually I am perplexed why Poch does not play him from the start against the likes of Burnley. He was crucial to the two best chances - Son's inexplicable miss and Eriksen's goal.

We do not have the ability to ping the ball around against parked buses nor do we have a dribbler to attack massed defences. Llorente's aerial and physical presence gives defenders a headache and takes their attention off Harry.

The next number 9 we buy should be someone who has previously shown that they can score off the bench.

How about Morata to rebuild his career under Poch, going back to his super sub role? Highly unlikely, but it's the type of move we should be looking to make imo.

Weirdly, Chelsea have got two forwards who are crap from the start but have good records as substitutes.

Has Morata ever been a super sub?

Always looked bang average every time I’ve seen him

Mate, that’s never going to happen! It’s got to a be a 50-60 metre shot from there, at an angle, and a huge risk of slipping and falling off the seat.

Plus the ref would never allow it anyway as the ball would be out of play.

Bentley once kicked a ball off a roof into a skip though. Or something.

Agree normally. But there was one occasion towards the end when the ball was played in and it was him or the defender to win it, and he let himself be bullied out of the way. It surprised me that he wasn’t stronger.

Do people think Fernando will be crucial in the coming busy holiday and January period?
Obviously doesn't have the pace and movement of others, but against sides we end up pinning back who have not much pace upfront (a la Burnley perhaps?) could this guy allow us to rotate Kane, Son and others?

Would he likely have a role to play this Sunday vs Everton?

And with Son out for Jan, he might get a bit of a run.
Although Kane and Moura will be the go to options.

Poch's interview after the game all but confirmed that we're talking about selling him...said things like "players want to play", "never know what will happen"

Great that he got a hattrick, and I'm fine with him leaving, but we need a body in in his place

Took his opportunity amazingly well tonight. Man of the match for me.

Showed all his qualities, touch, physicality, goal sense and ability to play as the target man, bringing in others into play

Which begs the question... is it a good idea to dispose of him this January, especially with Son away until potentially early February??

Yes it was a good idea before the game - and its still a good idea after he scored a hat-trick against a 4th division team
Get a deal in place for the end of windows and ditch him on the 31st

Who needs Harry in the FA Cup? Llorente now has six goals - two hat tricks - in his seven appearances for Tottenham in that competition.
