Serge Aurier

Far too much agreeing to respect each other’s oppositry opinions, in a polite and civil fashion currently.
Disgraceful what a bad run of form does to this group. Where are the classic threads of two posters escalating a minor disagreement over whether or not white or blue short trim is better on Eric Diers socks, and derailing the topic with ten pages of petty gutter sniping and name calling? Tsk.

Such a shame, just as was starting to show his real abilities. And by the way, remember the supposed baggage he had and how he might be disruptive? So far the lad has been top notch in his behavior.

Shaky defensively but good crosses. He was at fault for Watford's opener - he needed to clear the ball or go to ground, but froze (probably with 'don't be rash' lectures from Poch echoing round his head)

Yeeeeeah I think - although it sounds a little silly - beyond the goal he was good on D and good going forward. It’s actually progress that he didn’t do something rash. Can’t win em all - he was chasing back and it never should have gotten to that point.

Sanchez was at fault for the first goal
He went forward to make a challenge and was simply outmuscled
At least aurier actually made his challenge but was held off by a stronger player

Harsh in the extreme, what about the last second tackle in first half to prevent a goal?
He got out muscled for the goal by a guy none of our players could get near with his strength.
Actually had a good game.

Feel sorry for him if the injury keeps him out of the side, i thought he had a very good game last night ( my MOM) and is starting to look like the player was before we bought him. On that form he would be our num one in that position.

I’d say it was Sema’s terrible first touch that denied Watford a goal there.

Credit to the defenders for getting back but a. they shouldn’t have been that far away from him to start with and b. he shouldn’t have given them the chance.
Yea I thought this at the time but my stream was buffering like crazy so couldn’t really see it properly.

Crazy amount of space given to the striker. I’d like to see the 15/20 seconds leading up to it to see the team shape but usually your full back covers round when the defensive line shuffles over. However maybe we had just immediately lost possession a second or two before which would explain why Aurier was so far away in the first place?

Edit: I’ve just seen the highlights in the Carabao cup thread, Aurier’s way out of position!

likewise I should probably watch it again but my feeling at the time was that Toby had fudged up
