OMT Tottenham versus Brighton

I felt we were bullied second half today mate. We were lucky to get away with it.

Don’t really agree. We gave up a couple of chances when pressed and defended brainlessly at the end but against Watford we were physically bullied out of it. The game turned on Deeney outmuscling Sánchez.

And to be fair, you’d expect a team playing at home to have chances at some stage. I’m reasonably happy with today.

More touches than anyone else on the pitch, more passes than anyone else on the pitch, third highest pass completion at 94%.

Runs the game is what he does.
I’m sorry he is simply not that good. Those stats don’t tell you how much a player affects a game.

Surely there’s Five Guys in Brighton for Rose to splash out on?!

All that ‘experience’ means is he’s played more games. Llorente has more experience than Kane that doesn’t mean he should be playing. He got MotM on his debut and he was solid in what he had to do in very tricky conditions tonight. He should be ahead of Vorm for me....

Don’t disagree now
Two games he has played
We have won them and the goals conceded weren’t his fault
I liked the fact he didn’t fuss with his kicks too and happily went long when needed

You make it sound like he's Makalele when he is far from it. We both know that stats like that are entirely misleading.

Looks like Harry is playing his way back into form.

So, hands up all those who still want him packed off to a beach in Marbella for month?
Calm down, he scored a penalty and missed one easy opportunity through on goal and two others that an on form Kane would have probably buried. Like another poster said at least he was shooting, and hopefully the start of one of his goalscoring runs but let’s not build up that performance to be something it’s not....

Overall no better than the Watford game.

Considering the opposition no better than against Liverpool and Inter either imo.

Decent performance. Again. The kind of performances that get the kind of results we've had so far this season. Need to improve.
For me that was our best game this season

We controlled the ball and passed so much better than we have of late

Kane hit the target several times

Nice to get a win but another poor performance for me.

Passing is still off, movement isn't good enough, and actions that are usually seamless we are over thinking.

Defensively we look very shaky and consider ourselves fortunate to get that win.

This season won't be easy...and I'd rather we hit our best form towards the business end of the season.

But watching us is painful at the moment and we have many issues to sort out...something isn't right between the managers or players ears at this moment.

Onwards and upwards but rode our luck today.

He's a far better passer than Makelele. Makelele was more like Kante or Wanyama - I wouldn't want our passing moves to go through any of them.

Makelele never passed a long ball like Dier
Makalele was the master of winning the ball and giving it simple
I agree mate regarding the long passes. It’s the best part of his game. But for me he makes too many poor decisions defensively which is why I wouldn’t trust him as a centre back. That said he played very well there against Madrid last year when Alderweireld went off.
