The logic I think would be that he'd far more like-for-like cover for Eriksen than anyone we have. I think most of us doubt his work-rate/fitness, so his success would be predicated on Poch and team resolving that.

If they did solve that though, signing Shaqiri would mean that

(i) Eriksen could sit out domestic cup games (and stay at home rather than be on the bench as emergency cover),
(ii) we wouldnt be devoid of any creativity if Eriksen was out, whether rested or injured, and
(iii) in games where we decided to drop Eriksen deeper when we're chasing the game, we would have an option to not lose creativity in the no 10 type role

I'd have no problem with Spurs replacing Lamela this summer, but I would hope we could replace him with a better player than Shakiri.

That is it in a nutshell, if we are going to replace Lamela ( and i doubt we are) then we need a player who is going to be better, and Shakiri is not that player.

Moura is a completely different type of player to Eriksen or Shaqiri!!

Moura is all about pace and dribbling ability, the other two's games are built on passing, crossing and set pieces. Moura naturally complements Eriksen/Shaqiri as his pace and directness gives a passer such as the other two someone to hit with through balls etc

Can play on the left and in the central areas.
He also looks like he’s eaten Eriksen

I would have liked that too -as it would have freed up us to bid for Lanzini. However, now that he has buggered up his knee ligaments training with Argintina, I suspect he is now off our radar.

I think I would prefer Grealish to Shaki - primarily because he is younger ......and English!

Grealish fits the Poch profile more than Shaqiri although I think Shaqiri is decent myself...
