***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Juventus***

What a fantastic game and a compelling performance by Spurs but the tie is far from over. I think both coaches will take encouragement from this game, although Spurs, psychologically, may now have the upper hand.

There's an old saying in boxing: styles make fights.

The styles of these two teams are well matched. Spurs fans will rightly point out that their team dominated possession; controlled the tempo; looked stronger and more proactive than Juve.

Allegri has already observed, however, that the score could quite easily have been 4-3 or even 5-3 (but for Jan's sliding intervention in the second half), and their reactive approach did mean they ended up with more clear-cut chances than Spurs; they also looked dangerous from corners.

I don't think Juve will change their tactics much at Wembley. They are set-up to contain, then pounce.

Spurs will look to control possession and slowly throttle Juve, although they might be less inclined to commit players forward while the tie is still level.

I'm expecting half the coffee bars in London to be shut for the day and for the Juve fans to make some noise at Wembley; I don't think the Juve team will be overawed at the task facing them.

I still make Spurs favourites but Juve will get their chances. Offside goals, contentious penalties, sendings off and possibly dodgy lasagne could all end up playing a part in determining the outcome.

Whatever happens, it has been a tie to remember and Spurs can be rightly proud of their performance.

It is nice to get this away draw at Juventus after coming from 2-0 down. We will now have the away goals advantage in the 2nd leg at Wembley. It was disappointing to concede so early and then go 2-0 down. Was worried we would get hammered. We recovered well to dominate the match after that and could have won if we had make use of all the chances. We did ride our luck as Juventus wasted their chances including the penalty. Too bad we couldn't go on to win this match.

Credit to Kane and Eriksen for scoring our goals. Well done to Kane for continuing his goal scoring run in the CL. Amazingly, Kane has now scored 7 goals in the CL this season, which equals the record of Gerrard for most goals scored by English players in a CL season. In fact, Kane could have scored the hattrick as he had 2 other one-on-one chances which he could have done better with. Eriksen's goal needs special mention as it was the first time in more than 2 years that he has scored direct from freekick ! Alli too wasted a good chance to score in the first half. Lamela played well but he was not involved in any goal scoring chances.

Well done to our midfield of Dembele and Dier for controlling the midfield. It was good to see Dembele showing his old form as he played well to run the midfield almost on is own. Was worried about Dier playing instead of Wanyama but Dier also played well apart from 1 or 2 mistakes. Nice to see our new player Moura getting some playing time late in the match. Too bad he didn't have much time to make an impact.

Our defence had a mixed match. We badly missed the composure of Alderweired as our defence went to sleep for the first goal. It was a bad timing to concede the first goal so early in the match. Alli should have blocked the quick freekick but our defence should have been more alert. Thought Lloris should have done better for the goal as well. We then conceded 2 soft penalties. Davies should have been more alert to avoid the penalty while Aurier was too clumsy to concede the penalty with that sliding tackle. Fortunately for us, Juventus missed from the second penalty. I think if they had scored from that, it would have been very difficult for us to come back.

Strangely, Kane and Eriksen also scored our goals when we beat Juventus 2-0 at Wembley in the pre-season friendly in August. And Kane's goal in this match is almost a carbon copy of the goal Eriksen scored against Juventus in the friendly, both goals assisted by Alli's inch perfect passes. One disappointing thing about this draw is that we failed to repeat our brilliant 1-0 away win at AC Milan in the CL Round of 16 match of 2011. Since then, we have not had any wins at any big European teams until beating Borussia Dortmund this season. Despite our poor away record in Europe, we have a good home record in Europe. Let's hope we will make use of the home advantage to overcome Juventus and progress to the Quarter finals of the CL.
