Mousa Dembele

And you can all shoot me if you like, but I still think he needs replacing. When he's fit and on form, he's a massive plus, but his fitness can't be relied upon and he struggles to ever do a full 90 minutes, nevermind a Saturday-Tuesday schedule of Premier League and Champions League.
Perhaps we should just save him for the hardest games?

Bring out the rifles.

Not sure who you'd replace him with? We already have Wanyama and Onomah.

More for the Dembele love-in

Anyone who consistently criticises his lack of goals and assists needs to watch that video. He’s not really in a position to get goals and assists! His role is to control the game from deep, which he does brilliantly.

I think his passing has got a bit more incisive too over the last season or two, which for me was his biggest weakness pre-Poch.

We don't have to sell him, maybe "replace" is the wrong word. But more construct our first XI assuming his absence, because of his fitness issues (which is where I'd like to see Wanyama pushed forward as the main man, as I think he's brilliant). If he can then play a role as a squad player and find form for big games when we need him, then that's great. As a previous poster said, we wouldn't necessarily get much money for him anyway, so selling him wouldn't do much for us.

His passing in the 2nd half Liverpool was as good as I've ever seen it.

Can we take it in turns to press the trigger? Tonight’s performance...wow.

Give him the last 20 minutes against Huddersfield to keep his fitness up, but his next match should be the return leg. On this form he is the best midfielder in England and if City were not so far in front of everyone he could have won us the title, as it is. I think he can get us to the next round of the European cup and top 4 in England.

He’s the best player I’ve ever seen at keeping the ball. It’s unbelievable. There was one stage when Hugo passed the ball to him at the edge of the box. I shat myself until I realised who was picking it up. He just took it in and ghosted past two players. Beautiful.

He has done it now in 4 games against top sides in a row. This fella is a Rolls Royce of a player. Top class. Just wish he was younger and less injury prone. I love the big grizzly bear.
