I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Nice from him tonight. Skillful and aggressive. He ran on the pitch and immediately started scuffling with someone, just to get fired up.

This boy knows the dark arts. He’s a dirty little fudger but has a hell of an engine and no little skill. It’s a shame his time here has been blighted by injuries and family problems. I really hope he gets a good run at it because I think he has a lot more to give.

And I’ve said it a million times on here but he should have a stand in the new stadium named after him for that wonderful stamp on Fabregas a few years back.

It was another good cameo. He just pulls the strings and finds passes through tiring defences

The last couple of sub appearances he's made, he often makes himself open for the pass, we haven't done a great job of using him every time, but will come once he gets more game time.

Good impact, and won us the point today for sure .. smart.

Some way off match fitness as can be expected. But a good sign that Pochettino trusted him in a situation like that. Lacking some decisiveness and creativity in key moments. A game against Newport could do him a lot of good.

Should have put away the rebound from Kane's first penalty. Made amends by getting his body in the way for the second penalty.

VVD and I think it was Robertson both had a big headstart on Lamela in being in situ for the rebound.
I was trying to imagine yesterday the ensuing uproar (even more than is already the case) if Moss had called for Kane to re-take. First a (perceived) offside, followed by a (perceived) dive to win the penalty, 'justice served' by Karius saving the penalty - then Kane scores from the retake (making it goal #100 into the bargain) Merseyside would never have recovered. :D
Shame.
