Juan Foyth

Juan to Foyt for his place !

Just stumbled across this.

Looks bloody promising for a young lad. Calm, strong, cultured and confident.

Hopefully see more of him soon.

Yep, will be interesting to see whether Poch plays him in Cyprus given that Verts is suspended and presumably Wanyama is still out (or not match fit). I think Poch will go 3 at the back so only other option would be Dier at the back and then not having a genuine DM in front of them

Very complete player though so young ! Poch knows how to spot em

I wonder if Poch spotted him, or if his networks let him know? Could easily see someone with vested interest in a young Argentine player looking at the Spurs/Poch combo as a no brainer as a next step in career, much as some English players would see it today. That reputation could pay off for us over time.

That reputation has already served us well. I've heard and read interviews where most of our signings have stated exactly that.

No need for that mate. He's only a kid. He might grow out of it.
Oh my......I was joking.

And perhaps you were?

Thinking about it....In the football world calling him that could equally be a massive compliment or a massive slur, depending what side of the Stones fence you fall.

Would be a huge achievement if he made his debut in the Champions League in an away game. If it wasn't for our midfield injuries I would put Dier back in defence but don't think we can.

Good luck to him if he starts - alongside Toby he's got a good chance of succeeding.

I missed the 2nd half last because I was visiting the MIL in hospital, but watching it today foyth really impressed, thought he was probably our MOTM.

I thought that he had a really good game too. It was a tough game for a young player to play in, particularly one who is new to English football but he kept his head. The difference between him and KWP was marked.

He looks quite far along in his settling in process. Stronger physically and in the air than he looks, a bit like the two Belgians.

I agree. I was wondering whether we would have stuck with the same formation if he was this far along when Alderweireld got injured. It certainly puts us in a strong position for next season.
