***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Racist Rent Boys***

Well everyone thinks it will be a walkover for them....

Yet I look at the teams they have beat and can't help but think they haven't beaten anyone half decent other than maybe Southampton

I think their being hyped up to a level they haven't achieved yet, and are playing good football but haven't beaten a team that was in last years top 6 yet IIRC

In their last 3 home games (Leicester, Man U and Everton) they are P3 W3 D0 L0 F12 A0. In our last 3 aways (West Brom, Bournemouth, Arse), we are P3 W0 D3 L0 F2 A2. They're strong favourites to end our unbeaten run, and for a very good reason. There could be a silver lining to that, though....

#thfc Poch says Tobt could return to full training tomorrow. He's out for Chelsea but could be back for Swansea. Lamela / Davies out Sat.

Pochettino confirms Tottenham will play at Wembley in Europa and make it their home. Logical given building work

And not only for that reason. It'll be denied publicly, but some of our players evidently have mental issues with Wembley. If we're going to play all our home games there next season, they need opportunities to get over them.

Pochettino confirms Alderweireld is back in training today with first team but not available for Chelsea, hopeful for Swansea.
Mauricio Pochettino has also confirmed Erik Lamela & Ben Davies have also been ruled out of Saturday's game away to Chelsea

On paper yes but as I said earlier they beat a Leicester team that up to playing us hadn't won any game around their Champions league fixtures, a United side thats well and truly broken (although that was a big result) and an experimental Everton side who played some players out of position and basically let them play. If we approach it like those 3 we will get battered. I will add that we did better at Arsenal than they did for example so if you compare the results against who has played who were down on the Leicester result (our fault) but up on the Arsenal one

Buts it s a derby that means a lot to all involved (see their players comments last season).

get that logic but wembley with 25000 people in it will be awful

Or a second team getting battered in front of a two thirds empty stadium could make it even worse.

Thats our average gate for europa though at WHL

And WHL is a better fit for most fans

With reasonable prices we'll easily sell 60k. I'm sure there are still loads of "neutrals" and tourists that would like to see a game at Wembley. There are some decent sides in the competition at this stage, even though most people are idiots and will brand clubs as big or small based on their name and without knowing anything about the current side.

I doubt Conte would advocate any revenge, but for me, although they were over the moon to have mathematically ended our title hopes, I am sure they were upset with the way they got bullied by us.
I can see some very sly challenges coming our way (off-the-ball) on Saturday.

One things for sure it is going to be intriguing viewing

Bit premature Mauricio, we arent officially in the Europa League yet, there is still a small matter of avoiding defeat v CSKA before all that. And quite frankly I am not fully 100% that will happen just yet

I'd wager a good deal of Spurs fans will know what sort of out sides *we* will be putting out, though.

------------------------------Lopez-------------------------

Walker-Peters---CCV--------Wimmer-------Walkes

-------------------------Wanyama----Winks----------

Edwards----------------Onomah------------N'Koudou

-------------------------------Janssen---------------------

And that's if we're lucky and Poch deems three first-team players a sufficient number to keep the throwing of the game from looking *too* obvious. Fact is, people don't get upset about playing FC Tractor Factory in the Europa League because *they* are part-time Romanian machinists from some haunted Transylvanian valley, and generally crap - it's because we evidently don't give a damn about not looking crap either.

In the Europa League, or the Champions League. And if we rest first-team players against Monaco in a must win game, there is no chance that Poch will take any of the EL games seriously - like the League Cup, his aim will be to go out as limply and painlessly as possible, so we can get back into the CL and do our hardest to limply exit that competition again, so we can get into it the next season, etcetera, etcetera. Like we used to make fun of Arsenal for doing back when we went further than them in our one and only appearance in the competition. 'The Game is About Glory' sounds tinny and pathetic when faced with the reality of a manager who loudly proclaims the value of 'passion' in football disinterestedly shipping games in both the CL and EL so he can turn his attentions elsewhere.

*That* is why you will have a supremely hard time convincing anybody that it's worth it to schlep to Wembley on a midweek evening to watch the kids limply lose to some tractor machinists. Simple reality, that, unless something drastic changes.

I for one will not be putting myself out for Wembley until/unless we get a named team

Wembley is a dog for me to get too although it's less mikes and the atmosphere makes the death star seem good

It has to be addressed to next season

Considering we've lost our last six matches at Wembley, I'd say there's a fairly good chance we're not going to get to the Europa. Seeing as we're giving zero fudges about the cl when we have a chance of advancing, how much of a fudge are we going to give when we're already out?
