The youth players/on-loan thread 2016-17

Apparently he is the best player for his age in the country but they (his camp) played hard ball and got an unusual 2 year deal for a player his age, coupled with assurances means Poch must rate him and the club didn't want to lose him for pennies.

For anyone who might be interested, who has the right channel (Eurosport 1), and is not fed up with all things England, Josh Onomah and Kyle Walker-Peters are with the England squad playing France this evening (6.30pm UK time) in the U19 Euro Finals.

Might go "Mucking about on the river" - for anyone who remembers the song, here's Des O'Connor murdering it

Onomah looks bloody awful - sluggish and disinterested

Anybody would think we have just signed a first team striker!

Kyle WP coming on 65mins

Onmah has done some good things, but he and others don't quite work together.

Playing in a pointless tournament for a philistine of a coach

No injuries and no exertion have to be his priorities

KWP made a couple of important blocks and also had a good run towards the end to draw a foul, he's not a natural left-back but he's comfortable there - far more than most right-footers anyway.

Not specifically him. Just the whole England setup root and branch is kind of catching up from the 80s to the 00s, but still nowhere near the 10s.
So tell me what you know about the England youth setup - and for what reasons you feel it is nowhere near the 10s? Do you know much about the way that Aidy Boothroyd coaches and how he did his coaching badges? Or did you call him out as a Philistine coach because he is English and was a bit of a journeyman as a player?
