OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine***

It started with WBA then Chelsea! Southampton although a little bett was still way off our top form.
Today was the perfect storm for us..........Toon looked like they remembered they are football team! Typical!
The "penalty" killed us and we basically went brick or bust

Conceding v WBA was the killer. At 1-0 up we were stood on 71pts, had we held on, the last 3 matches would have been almost irrelevant. The equaliser was a dagger in the heart, Alli getting banned after the match just pushed the knife in a little further

Funny thing is, the Goons' players just love finishing above us. They rub it in, every chance they get. What is that club doing to get their players geed up in that way that we can't emulate? Where's the rivalry from our side? We both have multimillionaires aplenty in the squad - why are theirs more eager to finish above ours?

I agree, we have surpassed our backups. But that our backups were outplayed by players inferior to them is difficult to take - is Mason really worse than Jack f*cking Colback? Ideally, the quality of our backups shouldn't have mattered against players even weaker than them.

Nah, I think we stopped wanting to win games after Chelsea. Which is what worries me, and which is why I want a shakeup - yes, our backups are insufficient, but so is the mental caliber of this team, even after all that's gone on. And fixing that requires either Ranieri-esque levels of motivation or just unprecedented cruelty and ruthlessness. After failing time and again to break the curse, I think those are he only options left to us.

Be cruel, Poch. Please, be cruel and be ruthless.

Very good point about scum players being well up for beating us even the foreign players.

True but Wijnaldrum certainly is levels above Mason and will show that in a decent team.

Correct.

His mistake for me was not putting on Rose instead of Chadli
The mistake was not putting on the under 13 girls team! They've would have done far better than these overpaid clown shoe players that could not care less, and literally tinkled on every supporter with that excuse of a display.

Getting messages in from Gooner friends, and it's not really stick. I mean, I just agree with all of it. Us being champions at bottling it, basically. They can throw whatever at me, and I'm ready for it. Been there, done that. No stick from any scum fan can get to me anymore, we've just done it all, it seems.

They've bottled the last 5 seasons. We bottled 3/4 dead rubber matches. We're rising, they are falling

This result will resuscitate an Arsenal on the decline. Today has been an unmitigated disaster on every level.

turns this season into a total success for them

finished above Spurs and qualified for the CL, mission complete

and of course, we all reset our baseline in April, hopefully I'll get a dose of common sense over the next few days, but sitting here right now, it feels like an absolute disaster

Well, then clearly their standard of bottling is different than our's. They've won the FA Cup twice, and have finished above us (and qualified for the CL) for the past 5 seasons. But I applaud your positivity. I hope you're right, of course.

If there's but a glimmer of positivty to gain from today, it's that Wenger will probably keep his job.

I thought if I waited a couple of hours before posting on here, I'd be all like "hey, we finished 3rd, we'd have taken that at the start of the season, it's been a great season etc."

But I'm not. That was a phucking pathetic effort and there are a few players who could do with a punch in the face. We have finished below Arsenal AGAIN. Our best season in the league in my time supporting Spurs (that I can properly remember anyway) and we still allow them to get above us.

I can take playing sh1t. I can take bad subs. I cannot forgive a complete lack of effort when they know that it'd mean a lot to 90% of Spurs fans to actually get 1 up on the gooners for phucking once.

This is no way to end a season. Leicester have shown what a bit of momentum can do. The wheels have come off completely once Chelsea went 2-2 and it's a really weak effort from the players from that point. I hope they are ashamed of what they put out there today.

Oh, and Superfans -- just for once, sit on your phucking hands and save your happy happy thoughts until after a game where we haven't lost 5-1 and invoked St. Totteringhams day for the umpteenth time.

Lovely.

Sell; Fazio, Mason, Carrol and Benteleb

Buy; Umtiti, Bazoer, Tielemens, Witsel/Wijnaldrum and Batyushi

Loan; CCV, Winks, Onamah, Pritchard and Njie

Job done

We haven't sold Fazio already? Damn, only a loan. I agree though. Would possibly add Davies to that list, and add a replacement for him.

You know what? I just saw Pochs post match interview on the BBC website and the fact that he seems as phucked off as I am about it has made me feel better. There might be one or two extra out of the door in the summer as a result of the past couple of weeks, because he was talking like a man who did not expect to finish lower than 2nd.

I'm normally positive but the lack of effort today was disgraceful, I can handle brick players running out of talent, good players phoning it in maddens (and saddens) me though, I'll be surprised if anyone tries to defend that.

I would have absolutely taken 3rd at the start of the season, but we've done it in the worst possible
way, somehow we've managed to qualify for the CL group stage, secure our highest finish since black and white yet still have nothing but apprehension for next season and anger at the players.

Only Spurs can break your heart.

Mate, we were thrashed by *Saudi Sportswashing Machine*. Again. After they'd been *relegated* a few days ago. They had *nothing* to play for, and we had everything to play for.

And we conceded THREE goals after being given a man advantage for half-an-hour.

All this against a side that people were roosterily predicting we would easily beat, or at the *very least* get a point from.

Something is wrong, mate. No sense denying it.

Personally, I want Mason and other Spurs products to stay if possible, but I'm really hoping we see some major, ruthless surgery this summer, with players who had hitherto considered their places safe being either benched come the start of the season or outright sold. A shake-up that wouldn't have been needed a month ago, but given that we've been on holiday since the Chelsea game, something needs to change - this bottling Spursiness still exists, and needs to be cut out. If the players can't respond to positive encouragement like having a place to play for and a supportive manager to play under, then they might need negative reinforcement - play for your place in an increasingly ruthless side, or get tossed aside without a second look as we march onwards. No mercy, no leniency.

I don't think we'll see it, mind, but I'd do it if I were Poch - if he's learned anything from Ferguson, let it be sticking the knife in players and moving 'em on if they slip mentally as horrendously as they have done over the past month.

This post is why today's result and outcome is damaging. The end meaning is probably not that important, with CL still guaranteed, but a lot and I mean a LOT of fans will be seriously pis$ed at this. And that undermines all the great work we had done for the previous 34 games and means that a large section will never truly trust this spurs side and worse than that this f*cking SP*RSY word will still have some meaning. Awful just awful.

We need to all have a break, hopefully recruit well and come back really strong. Don't lose hope, we were still very much the best side in the league for a large portion of it (Leicester deserved to win it overall)
