I'd disagree on the Townsend analogy, this guy actually looks like he can finish which is something I've not seen Townsend do convincingly all that often.

He looks fairly creative as well - although I suppose from the outside looking in Townsend may have a reputation for being a creative goal scoring midfielder (from his England exploits) rather than what we see from him in our colors

Has anyone actually seen this guy play? everyone is sticking him straight in their line ups along with Berhaino but i doubt most have actually watched him play.

Let's hope Poch gives him licence to show what he can do.

I am nervous that all our creative, fast, flair, wide AMs ( Lennon, Lamela and Townsend) have been effectively neutered by the constrictions of the 4231 formation and the expectation of these players to over contribute defensively.

I have concerns but hooe I am wrong. Time will tell.

does it matter that anybody has seen him play?:) he cannot be any worse than Townsend, Dembele or Lamela

the problem is Poch might need time to get his fitness up to the required level before he gets a chance.

so where do we actually plan to mostly play him? I'm presuming we want him in sooner rather than later (as £10m isn't exactly a snip), but is that going to be getting 10 mins at centre forward to give Kane a breather, or primarily on our right wing inside forward?

If the latter, we're going to be really short in that position - with just; Lamela, Townsend, Lennon, Dembele, Pritchard and Clint on the books.... ahem.

*although Townsend is better on the left, as I've heard is Pritchard (cutting in gonad*s again), Lennon is better as a winger, and I have no fecking idea what is happening with Dembele!!!

Lennon, Townsend and Dembele shouldn't be playing that position for us. Lennon needs to be moved on, even if we have to cut the price we expect for him.

Lennon has been an excellent player & I'm very happy that he played for us, and behind some very memorable moments like his assist for Crouch's goal v Milan & his goal against Chelsea that finally secured us a long overdue win.... but, if we no longer want to play him then surely it's for both parties interests to let him move to another club.

I think that he will start off as an impact sub until he has found his feet

.

agreed - as I said, Townsend is a left winger, and Dembele - who knows!!!! Last throw of the dice for him I reckon, and its a random one. Lennon is a dead man walking and not aided by the fact you can't play on the right if you are right footed with pace (madness!)

If Clint is to ultimately live here, we are silly over stocked with square pegs in right flank holes!

I think we might move to a 4-3-3 once Berahino arrives with Njie, Kane and Berahino up top. With a new shiny DM, you can then have a midfield 3 of DM, Eriksen and Bentaleb or Mason
