Roberto Soldado

and you have an 'agenda' with Capoue and Adebayor. You see how easy that is :ross:

In actual fact most people don't really have agendas and simply rate or don't rate players. People that use the agenda word often (like yourself) are usually ones that can't articulate there point very well, notice there argument makes little to no sense...then resort to informing people that there opinion is "pure bull****" when they get angry:lol:

We created before the red? really? please elaborate...

I actually think a lot of posters on this site do have agendas, and it is a problem. It is very hard to discuss matters when certain postesr only see what they want to see. We all have players/managers we rate and don't rate, but the problem is that a lot of posters will never admit it if a player/manager they don't rate does/have done something good and vice versa. Certain posters dislike Redknapp and think everything he did was wrong, others liked AVB and thought he did everything right. Surely it must be possible to have more balanced views? Everything is not black or white.

I am pretty fair minded cos all Ii care about is Tottenham winning, saying that I do always think if we are going to be **** lets do it with English players so maybe I have an unwitting prejudice against the foreign players. But maybe not because I loved Ginola, Berbatov, Bale etc.

King Dawson - you have said nothing wrong here.

Murmon - ADE has played in an almost identical way this season and you have attacked him. We were crap today for large parts.

The reason why Bob should be surplus to requirements is because he will never be prolific in this league.

Today when erisken whipped the inch perfect cross in - the fact he didn't attack the ball was shocking for someone who is meant to be a 'fox in the box'. Totally lacking confidence and desire to
Turn it around.

does LC stand for lost cause?

Seeing as we're finding it pretty tough to find one decent striker to buy, ditching two and trying to replace both sounds unappealing.

Soldado is a very, very distant second in the list of strikers we desperately need to get rid of.

He is the first one we should get rid of. Absolutely woeful finisher. Not only that though but he is also not trying to get on the end of things, I counted 3 occasions in today's game where he didn't try to attack a ball across the box, so on top of his woeful finishing he is also now bottling it.

Mind you at least I can be thankful for small mercies with Capoue finally finding his perfect spot in our team!

As for Soldado he is just desperately lacking in confidence at the moment. A couple of times today the ball was played into good areas in the box, Soldado was in a decent position, but he doesn't want to get in a position where he can miss, so he doesn't attack the spaces. He is more afraid of missing than he is eager to score. Classic symptons of a striker lacking in confidence.

And ever since he first joined us it was been quite apparent that he doesn't have the pace or strength to be a great success in this league. He is a decent footballer, he can see the game well and can set up team mates with intelligent play, but I can't see him ever becoming a success story for us. I like him, but I don't see it happening.

I agree on the whole but I think that his main problem is confidence. I still think that it is best that we move him on but it is a shame because I think that he is a decent player.

Mumorn...in response to post #2244, be careful. A perfectly decent response was offered and you replied with some baiting. You're better than that. Please help keep things on an even keel here.

Agreed.

I think Poch needs to stick with Soldado and Kane for a while now, needs to give them some games to work it together. I like the potential in their partnership.

I liked the Kane and Adebayor partnership towards the end of last season under Sherwood. I think we should go with that until January and then go balls in for Berahino.

He needs one of those games like Pav used to have occasionally, grab a goal or two in a scrappy game, get a few starts and use the confidence.

.... I miss Pav.

He had one chance and missed, was hardly the sitter are claiming either. Every time a ball came he went front post and Kane back post unfortunately the ball seldom got to him. I think he is very harshly judged we aren't exactly firing on all cylinders behind him and creating chances galore. When it does click in the final third I think we will see the best from him

I have been critical of Ade and said Soldado deserved a run of games. But Soldado doesn't look like he's going regain his confidence in front of goal at the moment. I honestly don't know who we should play. At least Soldao gets in the box and links up play I guess, better than Ade who spends half of the game at left wing. Both seriously need to up their game. Finishing top 8 is going to be a real struggle with two non scoring strikers.

You know the last couple of seasons when Torres was lumbering around up front for Cheat$ki?

His confidence was shot, he never got it back. He just kept putting himself about and tentatively poking at chances and missing and fluffing.

We need to get rid of guys like this, just like Cheat$ki did.

We are trying to pick between 2 hopeless non-scoring forwards (Soldado and Adebayor) and arguing about their "merits" when they are scant.

Meanwhile we have 17 players trying to play in the hole, it is an absolute joke.

We need a clearer system, we need some width, we need some defending from the front, and we need the good players to be playing, not these jokers.

Excellent post. Particularly about Torres. He also had a tendancy to hide, through a fear of missing chances usually.

We do need width, it's good that we have players who can interchange, but one player needs to boss that position, not have a number 10 by committe like we have.

we created before the red though, so youre chatting pure bull****. continue though, its funny hearing you on here every day moaning about those you have an agenda against, I see its Mason thats next on the list.

I watched the game, soldado was poor again, and we created very little at all before the red.

If we can get even half our money back on this guy... Then we need to cut our losses.

I think this is symptomatic for our entire team at the moment. We looked afraid out there in the first half. The red card gave us some hope, but before that, we just looked like a bunch of scared boys with a lack of faith in themselves.

We need to be better at creating, use more width, good balls in to the box then the goals will flow and Bob will put some away too.

I like the Bob and Arry combo. Let's give it time to gel even more.

At one point in the second-half, I swear,he looked a ringer of Terry Hall in the Funboy Three era!!!! That hair hahahahahahah...
