Roberto Soldado

Michael Owen said that when he was at Madrid he didn't particularly rate him and found it surprising that spurs splashed out the amount they did

Soldado was young then though, just breaking through. He is a striker that has gotten better year after year, until he came to Spurs

Oh yes, I concur, Michael Owen is a prick

Just because the likes of Owen a Fowler were teen sensations doesn't mean that every striker is so prolific at such early ages. The likes of Lineker and Shearer were slow starters in their careers.

Just stick to the horses Owen

This guy seems the awful buy I feared he would be. However. I'd still rather we ****ed Ade off in January now, and gave RS 10 games in a row to at least see if he can find the old cows **** with the proverbial banjo once more.

Then sod him off if not.

But would still prefer we give him a run anyway. He could be ok, but rotation is killing him, and/or killing the way the rest of the team get used to trying to find him.
We have absolutely no pattern of play, and as a striker, you're screwed in that scenario.

After double session good dinner with my friends @benjaminstambouli and Etienne last night!!

No striker is going to be effective if they don't get the support that gets the best out of their own skill set. Soldado got that at Valencia and shone, he hasn't received that here and he's struggled.

I've no doubt Soldado could be a success here, if we develop a system that allows him to play with his 'fox in the box' strengths.

Looks like they are putting the hours in during this break. Hopefully things will look a little better.

Spot on. Good chance for these players to take a step towards securing a starting spot.

Soldado got his first league start this season away to City directly after an international break iirc.

Bump.

Poor performance and never looked like scoring again. Missed a sitter AGAIN too.

Agreed. I said it elsewhere (infact I'm a boring c**t for continually saying it) but I would like to see us try Chadli and Kane as a pair upfront (they can alternate for who drops deep and who leads the line/drifts wide).

@GaryLineker: Soldado had it in Spain, but handed it in at customs on his arrival.

@Squawka: Roberto Soldado in the Premier League this season:
Appearances - 6
Mins Played - 312
Shots - 10
Goals - 0
