Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Re: Northumberland Development Project

I'm meeting some of the execs at the City game (not sure who yet) so ill fish but I'm with the company doing the electrical works on site so they may be a little embarrassed :()

Re: Northumberland Development Project

No but maybe Danny boy thinks he would have better bargaining chips if he went into negotiations with a EL trophy and CL qualification sewn up

Perhaps however the EL would obviously be in the past and the CL would only be one year, so I cant see that its remotely logical to delay the stadium on the off-chance of getting better naming rights. When you think that we'll have 20k extra seats, the financial cost of any delay is substantial

I dont see why the work on teh stadium cant begin this summer - just because there hasnt been an announcement doesnt mean that they've not been lining up contractors etc

Well the club are letting a new maintenance contract on the stadium very soon to a friend if mine (through work) and there looking at putting capital projects through it which means there actually spending money on the place. That's something they haven't done for the last 18 months

Re: Northumberland Development Project

Sory to ask such a amateur question but I'm not as informed as some on this issue, but will we expect immediate results from the stadium once it's built or will we have a few seasons off paying back debt? Or is this dependant on how much our sponsorship is?

The likelihood is that everything very much is dependant on how much sponsorship Mr Levy is able to bring in, it maybe that the new stadium size will service the debt should there be a shortfall. So as Mr Levy has said many times, building the stadium would not influence the current budgets to a downturn in what we spend currently.

At the moment a lot of the figures are up in the air, current totals that were spoken about originally of 450m were a couple of years ago, one doesn't know how much of this figure has already be found. For example, the club has already purchased over 90% of the land needed for the actually stadium and work has already started on the Supermarket.

What we do know is the recent training complex for Utd raised £120m over 8 years. This should be a starting point for Levy to work from IMO. As has been spoken recently in this thread and on skyscraper, Levy has an exciting package to offer companies wishing to get involved. Firstly the stadium, the training ground and the rumoured name change of White Hart Lane Station whilst other smaller details like the building of the stadium website could be sponsored.

Exciting times... if a bit slow.

Cheers for tha. Didn't realise their was a possiblity of Whtie Hart Lane Station getting a new name either. Would be good for any possible sponsors should it happen.

It has been a bit slow but good things come to those who weight I guess. When we first started talking about this I was convinced it would be 2014/ 2915 max. Pretty sure I read that somewhere in a Tottenham programme long ago. Ah well. I'm just thankful we didn't get dragged off to Stratford in the end.

Hey Bedford, get anything good? Or...?

Re: Northumberland Development Project

With the way things went during the construction of the training ground it wouldn't surprise me if one day in August a news story appears on the official website titled 'work on stadiums begins!' with Levy and AVB in hard hats with a note underneath saying 'picture taken in May'.

GHod only knows what is happening with the project, just have to wait and see what happens, for a little while longer........

Preceded the same day by the story 'THFC can announce we have agreed the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid...'

A really bad hangover!!!!!

Mike Rollo was supposed to meet us but was off sick. The guys im with and setting up a company with some of the maintenance at WHL and there work has all been put on hold now due to cash being saved for capital projects (the ground). Did meet Ledley and Defoe though

Ive been there 3 times in the last 5 or six games and from what i can gather talking to Stace (QS partners of the club) on Sunday fudning is expecte dto come via sponsorship, government grants and the club taking out "personal loans" which are guaranteed against an individual.

In effect of we looked at paying back £300M (including interest) over 15 years.... we would look at £15M a year sponsorship which isn't unrealistic, and the remainder made up via the extra revenue which would comfortably come via the increased gate and commercial revenue. The £15m a year is pessimistic and the guys at Stace thought £25m a year with the training ground for 10 years was achievable but there nor experts on that side of things.

When its put like that the club just need the right sponsor now and that is what is holding it all up.

Re: Northumberland Development Project
