****OMT- TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS Panathinaikos**********

With us out of League Cup and FA Cup being jinx for us, Europa League is our only remaining chance of winning a trophy this season. So, we should give our best to progress in this match. That means we have to play our best available players. It will be ideal for us to rest players before the tough league match at Everton. But we seem to be unbalanced everytime we rest players. Besides, traditionally Spurs players tend to get complacent when they are rested. A win will be enough for us to progress. But we should try to extend the 3 match winning run we have now.

Defoe has been in excellent goal scoring form lately, scoring 4 goals in the last 3 matches. With the form he is in, we cannot rest Defoe now as it might affect his form. Hope he can continue goal scoring run. I am not sure about starting Adebayor in this match. He seems to be too eager to impress against Arsenal, resulting in the red card. I think better if we can only bring him on as a sub first. Don't want him to get over excited and spoil it for us again.

We are going to miss Bale in midfield. But as we shown against Fulham, we can cope without him if players like Dempsey and Lennon can play to their full potential. I can see Dembele and Sandro being key to us getting a good result in this match. We have won all the matches Dembele has been involved so far this season. Hope he can continue to give us that luck.

Our defence did well to keep a clean sheet against Fulham. But since Friedel will be playing in goal instead, hope he can organize the defence as good as Lloris. I don't think we can play Gallas in this match as he cannot be playing all the time due to his age. But don't want us to play inexperienced youngsters in defence as well. I would prefer to play Caulker-Vertonghen there, with Naughton and maybe Walker playing alongside. Will be disappointed if we cannot keep a clean sheet in this match.

There is no reason whatsoever why we cannot beat teams like Panathinaikos us at home. As long as we don't get complacent and treat them with respect, we should be doing well against teams like them. A draw will be enough for us to progress to the next round. But will be disappointed if we don't win this match.

Jermain Defoe encourages fans to help players ahead of Europa League clash

Last Updated: December 5, 2012 1:36pm

Spurs need a point from their final Group J match against the Greeks at White Hart Lane to qualify for the knockout phase of the competition.

Defoe, who scored a hat-trick in Spurs' last home match in the Europa League, a 3-1 win against NK Maribor, spoke of the special feeling around the stadium on European nights.

"We always have fantastic support and that helps the lads to perform," he told the club's official website.

"The European nights are special and there is so much history here.

"We want to get through to the knockout stage of the competition and as we've said all along, we want to do something special this season. Things are going well at the moment and we've just got to keep it going."

Spurs have undergone a resurgence of late, moving up to fourth in the Premier League following the 3-0 win at Fulham last weekend, their third victory in six days after beating West Ham and Liverpool.

"It's been an amazing week," he added.

"If you look at the fixtures as well, they were all tough games. To win at Craven Cottage having beaten Liverpool in the week, it's fantastic."

Interesting Ade is favorite to be selected.

It's been suggested he doesn't do Europa League.

This will not be an easy game no matter who we play, Greek sides are always Tactically and Technically very good, this could be a cracker !

I haven't been particuarly enthralled or impressed by our Europa league campaign this year but if we win at least it becomes a knock out phase which could get interesting.

For a split second I though this was leading to "... a real, dull, hard-working bore draw"

He's a paid employee of the club - does what the boss says

After the way he got send off against Arsenal, don't think it is a good idea to force him to play. In fact, I don't think you can force any player to play these days. They might score an own goal or get send off just to take revenge on the team.

Mate, are you suggesting Ade took 'revenge on the team' against Arse?

WALKER ON PANATHINAIKOS:

We may only need a point against Panathinaikos on Thursday to progress to the last 32 of the Europa League, but Kyle Walker says the team will go all out for the win.

The full-back says that the lads will play the Tottenham way and do everything they can to secure victory.

"We need a point and I think we've got more than enough to go and get the win. But we need to be playing as we have in the past three games, and I'm fully confident we can go and get the three points," Kyle told tottenhamhotspur.com

"We're going to go out and attack them - that's the Tottenham way. We'll have the crowd behind us and hopefully we can give them something to cheer about, and continue our good run of form.

"We've put hard work in to get to this point and getting to the knockout stages would be fantastic.

"Since the first game of the competition I've wanted to win the Europa League. I want to win a medal with Tottenham."

Referring to in general. There have been many cases where players threatened to score own goals if forced to play. So, you can never force anyone to play nowadays.

Any official team news yet ?

Feel a bit nervous about this match. It reminds me of the Sevilla and Shakhtar Donetsk match in recent years. We looked capable of beating both at home and progress but came up short on both occasions. Hope we do much better than that against Panathinaikos.

He has already played in the EL for us this season, away to Lazio. He looked happy enough and did quite well.

I wish these speculations would end, he's a Spurs player, we're Spurs fans. He was injured. Let's move on.

Shakhtar and Sevilla were far better opponents than Pana. Anything other than progress tonight would be a spectacular fail.

We have been advised by Transport for London that supporters travelling by car to tonight’s Europa League game against Panathinaikos may face potential delays post match due to emergency maintenance works being carried out to the North Circular Road (A406) between the Fore Street Tunnel (A1010) and the Great Cambridge Tunnel (A10).

The works are due to be carried out between 11pm (06-12-2012) and 6am (07-12-2012) and will require the road to be closed in both Eastbound and Westbound directions with traffic being diverted via slip roads.

Supporters who would usually use this route as part of their post-match journey should avoid where possible.
