Steven Bergwijn

I love that he seems to have adjusted to the league immediately. And I still think we will see more from him in future. He’s full of confidence, has good vision, plays direct attacking and knows when to pass the ball and when to go with it. Think he’s a bargain for £25m.,
Does help that his personality fits
He is happy to work on his game in the break for example
And of course she has had a very very high level of coaching in Holland

look and NDombele in comparison. I genuinely doubt he has had anywhere near the level of coaching invested in him by comparison

People miss that N'dombele was playing in lower leagues only 2-3 years ago, he has had no where near the "normal" level of professional time in training/fitness that you would expect for his age. Part of it is just fitness, part of it is his body getting accustomed to this day in day out.

But I'm glad we are seemingly continuing to pick up players with the right attitude (Bergwijn)

Yeah I know
And it shows
He needs this year to get to a speed relevant for his skills

Another good performance from him today I thought. Great to see him settle in quite quickly.
Looks a good signing. And none of this 6 month settling in period a la Poch!!! My Motm yesterday. Won us the crucial penalty, played two or three really incusive passes and had a couple of good goal bound effor

Hey hey little Stevie
Scored a great goal against City
Its just the beginning, and you got us all singing
The best little fella in town!

I know its early days and we fans can get carried away some times but i really think we have a very good player here and what's better is that he will get better the longer he is here. Great start for the lad and he looks to be a hard worker as well as very talented.

Yep, that run for the penalty was a huge moment in the game.

I think the correct words to his song are:

Well done to Bergwijn for scoring on his debut for us. But he should not get carried away. Many of the players who have scored on their debut for us have struggled in the past. He needs to handle the pressure of expectations after this.

That’ll never sell records.

ah, to the tune of that manic street preachers song?

Was more impressed (and excited) by this performance than the one against City, though that one was also good in the circumstances.

I like the fact that despite his dribbling and shooting ability, he isn't just looking to do that all the time and picked some very good passes as well.

Looking forward to how he gets on once he gets more up to speed with the team and the league.

Another player gone
And another caused by a tackle and contact but sure it’s gonna be over play that gets the blame

Mourinho said he'd planned on taking him off early but had to keep him on and now he's injured.

Have faith in Lamela stepping up.
