Saturday is all about not losing. Chelsea are going to be fired up, even more so after their previous game. We're talking West Ham level cup final here. I'd take any kind of draw now if offered.

I genuinely do not see Mourinho losing this game. It is a second chance to overtake them. I don't believe he will allow us to blow it again.

@SteveAWOL

xG is a funny thing. Caley Graphics have it near level, yet another tweeter (infogol) had Leipzig at 1.51xG by half time. I'm also going to check back on another one tomorrow that has been quite generous with their numbers in the past.

There are those people who have discovered XG and think they can know about a game without actually having to watch it.
A great thing to ask them is "What is your favourite XG model and why?" They melt down.
XG is a waste of time over 90 minutes. It's fine to show a team's trend over a 30+ game period.

Lo Celso MOTM

His free kick barely took forever to make it to the keeper it was so weak. If that's the best he can do from just outside the box we might as well let Toby take them. Our midfield chased shadows all night. Him and Winks. You guys are blind, if you think this guy is the second coming of Gascoigne or Modric.

I'm not saying he was the worst on the pitch, they were almost all poor tonight, plus RBL were immensely good but pull your head out of your arses if you think GLC is all that.

Actually thought he done what he could. Setup similar to Liv and City games. Failing a calamity piece of defending he probably comes out of it with what he wants.

I watched the interview and he basically said what I posted yesterday. We are now threadbare trying to play in 3 competitions.

Sunday we had no forward on the bench. Today we only made 2 subs because all other subs were defensive players. He mentioned Lucas looking ‘dead’. I think he’s played nearly every minute for about 20 games straight. It’s really not on. He may not think Parrott is ready but players Will need a time out.

And the CL became the most expendable the minute Son cracked his elbow joint.

I'll be unconcerned if Spurs lose to Leipzig. With a thin squad, it's important to consolidate resources toward more manageable targets - finishing in top four CL places, decent if not winning run in FA Cup.

Get to the transfer window with lots to offer potential recruits and give Jose a full training camp to shape the team and tactics before our run to the title begins.

I actually make it 4 new players. Poch never got the full availability of GLC or Ndom so they count also as far as I’m concerned.

For me this squad just doesn’t look like a Jose squad. Lack of leaders. Lack of power. Lack of big players.

It's actually five if you include Sess, and all those missing aspects have been clear for some time. Especially the leader bit.

The free kick the keeper touched onto the post?

No one has said that he is the second coming of Gazza or Modric. However, he's just broken into a stuttering team and he is looking very good on the ball. Can keep it and use it very effectively. Also has a bit of steel in him where he's not afraid to put himself about. Last night was difficult for him because I really think he can pick a pass and as he was moving towards their box, he had little or no movement in front of him. I can't wait to see what he can do with say Kane back in the team or when we look more cohesive going forward.

If I'm not wrong, youre the poster who slated him when he was struggling early on. Sounds to me like you're just sticking to that opinion out of stubbornness.

A bit surpised Lo Celso is the runaway mom. He was good, but mostly just in the 2nd half. In the 1st half he was largely invisible for the first 30 minutes. Sanchez was very good the entire game.

Lampard isn’t a big player
He is less than 6ft tall and a wuss although a great player
Ivanovic wasn’t there first time round was he?
Cech.. yeah keeper are always tall

so we’re saying these teams had a tall keeper, CB, CM and striker...
Terry's also surprisingly short and slightly built in person too.

I'd say he's just about 6 ft - certainly shorter than me and I'm around 6'1"

Sanchez or Lamela for me - both were excellent for their entire showings.

Remember when we were flying under Poch... you could name the starting 11 and subs
Remember when players said the pre season under Poch was the hardest and best the ever had. I do
We kept a clean sheet vs City the other day actually didn’t we...

Jose is learning about the current crop by the minute watching them play
He is also dealing with the hand he has as best he can. It even felt to me the changes at the end made us look more cohesive attack wise than we have for a long time and he doesn’t think he changed tactics
He has been here about 15 weeks I think but encases it’s Jose the press are already anti him and judging him. We as fans need to at least give him real time. Minimum 18 months IMO and feck the press... they just want a bad news story

Yes I do remember when we were flying, but that team is dead, has been for some time, and that is my point, it wasn't and isn't the manager that's the problem, it's a certain number of players.
I never believed that Jose would turn this squad around.
There are too many that are too old, not good enough or not interested enough.
That for me is the issue and has been for some time.
Something happened last Christmas, and I have no idea what, just like I have no idea how to turn off the bold type ) that has killed that squad.
One clean sheet in how many games, and more by luck than design.

He was our best non defensive player, by quite a margin. But sanchez and Hugo had better games than him.

@milo Sanchez

Fantastic performance by him and again his pace and physicality is sorely needed with Toby looking so old.

Im actually shocked at your post. He was head and shoulders our best player in the first half. Had a quiet spell in the 2nd half when moved wide but then got into it again.

For me it’s his passing - he doesn’t settle for the 5 or 10 yarder, always looking for the less obvious pass that gives us a chance to push out and move forward.

Most I spoke to HT said how good he was!

Touched into the post but do you seriously view that as a dangerous free kick? Keeper had if covered the whole way, made a slight meal of it. GLC's record speaks for itself. No goals, no assists in 16 or 17 appearances. Quality?

I was contemplating trying to defend our best player last night but I don’t think I’ll bother.

Btw - Players like him could also suffer from no Kane and no Son. He made the best of a tough game last night.

And the season before that it had Tiago who was 6ft, just like Lampard.

I don't quite get your point though - these sides did have big guys (in height and in stature) in, in the right areas, as well as smaller guys. Even Essien was 5"10
If 6 foot is big in football terms then the game has changed
And of you meant big in stature then maybe some different words could have even used.. don’t forget those players won nothing until Mourinho came along

Exceptional quality
It’s why everyone outside of Tottenham is talking about us not missing Eriksen
But know we’re missing strikers
