What I can see of the game tonight the left back for PSG is having a great game. Think we have been linked with him and he is on a free.

I thought I read somewhere that he has agreed a move to Arsenal?

I agree though that Kurzawa would be a good option for us and allow us to spend our transfer funds elsewhere.

Player who caught my eye this week. Thomas Partey - DCM at Athletico Madrid. Comfortable on the ball, good decision making, strong, athletic, breaks up play. Looks a real talent.

I wasn't that that impressed with Werner. Fluffed his lines every time he was through on goal, and the pen was savable. Only time I've watched him mind.

But the supply line wasnt anywhere near as good as the way the press talk about it
They played wide and crossed it in. Not thing very technical or creative

Phillip Max left back for Augusburg has done an interview where he feels he is ready to step up and take the next step up in his career. 26 years old got 6 goals 5 assists.

Would be worth a proper look by our scouting department.

I know he's just coming back from injury but Davies was poor vs Leipzig. Whilst I'd like to give him time to prove himself, I'd also like to have another LB lined up if he doesn't prove himself up to scratch.

Incoming

Kurzawa - Free
Mertens - Free
Smalling - 15m
Soumare - 25m
Aarons - 30m

Total - 70m

Outgoing

Vorm - Free
Vertongen - Free
Wanyama - 3m
Rose - 8m
Dier - 10m
Foyth - 10m
KWP - 12m
Lamela - 25m

Total - 68m

The frees coming in are for experienced options whilst the likes of Sessegnon and Parrott have time to develop in the non crucial games. Getting CL would really help as other clubs will presumably be offering more wages. Mertens will be 33 in May, so a year with an option for another could work, an option across the front three as well as someone who could play with Kane. As for Kurzawa, cheap PSG players is Levy's weak spot and he'd get games; I like Tanganga but want someone left sided for the team's shape.

I imagine the Smalling shout could get some flack but having played with Jose before it could make sense. If he moves next season I think Smalling could be a steal of the window. I've banged on about Ake on here but it's going to be a lot of money and there could be a lure with Lampard at his old club plus rumours of clauses if an offer is accepted..

Soumare and Aarons fit the criteria of young players out there with high ceilings and form part of the future planning of the squad. I don't see us making a huge signing unless we lost a big profile player ourselves. I do think this will be the last year without a lot of serious heat about Kane / Son / Dele leaving. A summer competition keeps everyone busy and there should be reiterations of the ambition of the club to key players. Neither are at a stage where it is their "last chance" but may simply be open to a new challenge and you can't begrudge them for that imo, just hopefully not a pressing need for right now.

It's a big shift in terms of personnel but I think we'd have a tighter squad without the hangers on. Lamela is not one of those but it just doesn't seem like he's ever going to be a solid 1st team regular so it's more for his sake and the impending contract situation. Outgoing fees may look low but it's cheaper than watching fringe players stroll their way to the end of their contracts. Would love to see how this hypothetical affected the wage bill, with the players on bosmans but also a few key players from Poch's era having left.

Pace to burn, popping up all across the front line causing chaos. Constant thorn in Aurier's side too when out on the left. He offers something we don't have at the moment. Versatility and imagination.

70 goals in 115 for Leipzig. 23 years old. Sign him up ffs.
