Harry Winks

Was a a absolute machine yesterday. Hassled, harried, ran his heart out, and showed surprising bursts of speed and physicality at times.

I agree with @MKSpur - his passing is just a lot more incisive when he has to quickly spin and play it around a corner. No time for thinking, just instinct. And that was on full display today, alongside defensive tenaciousness and obviously that lung-bursting run to get Zinchenko sent off.

He's my MOTM, no doubt.

He was MOM for me as well, he ( imo) has taken a lot of unfair criticism from some fans this season ( coming back from a years worth of injurys and illness). Yesterday he was everywhere and the best we have seen from him for a while, very talented player who has great vision and awareness of what is happening around him. When he first came into the side he looked a natural and was held back by a couple of injurys.

I hope he can now push on because if he can he will be a regular player in our new M/F.

Was it Winks that for Zinchenko sent off? It looked like him (I was watching it on a phone). The way he took the ball from a poor City corner and ran with it was immense. That red card changed the game obviously. Credit for Jose for taking the handbrake off the bus at that point too.

Yep

I’m not sure fans do love him do they? He seems to have become the spacegoat this season.
I don't think fans dont like him, but, he can frustrate at times due to not playing to the level we know he is capable of. He has it in his locker to control the tempo of a game and has done against some of the biggest teams, he has it in his locker to play progressively but opts to play it safe too much. He has the talent and ability to be more then he shows and i think that's what most people pick up on.

It’s a fact that he is the most progressive passer in the league for his age and in the top 3 in Europe

Thought he got better as the game went on, there is no doubt that he is returning to form and that is a good sign for us going forward. He was everywhere and MOM for me.
Agreed. It was a bit of a snapshot of the season that game. We were dysfunctional as a team and Winks struggled to impose himself on the game, apart from some key moments like the pass for the goal and some defensive work.

As the team was improving Winks grew with it. Really dominant in that final twenty minutes, though Alli and Moura rightly get most of the praise.

Tremendous effort. Been starting every game, super tough game against City. Backs against the wall for 65 minutes against Southampton. Still had the energy to really put in a lot of effort in the final third of the game.

He's one of our own...

Can barely believe no one has bumped this thread in this long.

Winks deserves so much credit at the moment. Playing every game, so much effort, showing real quality. Seems to really be finding his form again.
Helps he is playing with another footballer when playing other Lo Celso
