Creative/attacking sub chasing the opening goal.

Usually you'd see plenty of posts about the naivety of not bringing someone on to protect the lead

Lamela is the best attacker at the club yes, he’s also the best at defending from the front and disrupting the opposition.

That's harsh. Since Kane's injury, he has come under greater attention from opposing sides. Often when he got the ball out wide today, there were two men on him. He's being forced to work harder every game and wearing down more quickly.

Still, when he misses chances in the first half, that's disappointing because he should still be fresh enough to be sharp with his finishing.

Burnley aside, can you think of a game that’s he’s been above meh?

He’s become too greedy.

He’s allowed to be off form, the issue is there is no one to replace him

Same applies for Moura.

Son looks totally lost!
Early on he was hugging the left touchline and we looked good, he stretched play, he was the out-ball, he had room to manoeuvre, get the fullback backpedalling, driving at the box, other players in the centre... this I like... then as the game wore on he was not keeping his width, he was in the centre stepping on people's toes, centre backs could dominate him and he was just cludging things up in the middle.

When will the replay be played? On our free weekend, or midweek some time?

As for the game, I thought out first half was decent. We set up to defend a bit too much for my liking, but at least we were solid, and had great opportunities to score. We need to take those chances. The second half was poor. We couldn't settle on the ball and keep it off them. Too many misplaced passes and poor touches. Especially after our goal, we needed to get the foot on the ball and slow things down, and we didn't manage to do that. We looked knackered towards the end too, especially Son. I thought Mourinho was too slow to bring fresh legs on.

Lo Celso was our best player again. Shows that we can both run with the ball and play creative passes. He looks very promising now. I also thought Aurier had one of his better games defensively, but then of course he makes the mistake before the equalizer. That's the problem with him. He can play well for a couple of games or for the majority of a game, but he will never be reliable.

He's always been greedy. I think this is one of those where the negatives that get overlooked when he's in form are accentuated when he's out of form despite always being there.

I'm not obsessing about winning the FA Cup this season. Nor going very far in CL. Too much going on in a transitional period as players begin to leave Eriksen), get dropped and replaced (Rose) or given greater opportunities to start or make the bench.

So, having a replay is, in some ways, like a high-end training session giving us more time to refine tactics and formations, maybe even take chances on talent like Parrott, without risking points in the league.

Perhaps Ndombele will play the full 90 in this one and we'll get a stronger sense of what the team is shaping up like for the future.

And for all the gloom mongers - and you know who you are - it could have been worse.

How about Slaven Bilic coming back to steal a win over his former club as 10-man West Brom win 1-0 over Dildo Town?
