Politics, politics, politics (so long and thanks for all the fish)

Lib Deb/Labour voters who didnt vote tactically and wanted the Tories out are dullards and will get the Government they deserve.
This wasn't about a lack of tactical voting.

Listen to the MPs who had to knock on doors - they're saying all the conflict from voters was over Corbyn.

Those who did vote tactically are still idiots
The swing needed would never work
The funny thing is that people are still in denial around Brexit and it’s impact. It’s won the conservatives a large majority without trying... easiest win they have had in my lifetime

Seems that way, 24 hours ago I was still convinced the majority didn’t want to leave the EU. I was clearly wrong.

I can only go on what I have heard, would never claim to be gospel - but this was about Jezza and his idiots not getting into power more than Brexit.

I do think this will lead to a soft Brexit now.

@galeforce

In my area, the Tory vote was 70%.

Irrespective of that, Corbyn as PM is equally as distasteful to me as Johnson.

Johnson really is the lesser of two evils here, I don't like him or agree with him on large amounts - however, again Jezza is worse.

From what I have seen majority voted for remain parties.

I see the logic in the argument that Boris can soften Brexit now, but the message from this election is that the majority want quick and easy solutions, he’s surrounded by ERG, they’ll push the message of getting out quick with no deal whilst riding the enthusiasm.

Leave parties, of which labour is definitely one, took 3/4 of the vote.

'Poor fellow my country.' i see that that divide and rule and the politics of fear still has it's appeal. The only up side is that the fascist element within the Tory party will have no one to blame now. Short of an accusations of kiddy fiddling, it's hard to see how the fascist Murdoch press will be able to smear the next Labour leader to the extent that they did with Corbyn. The nation gets the government it deserves and I hope all those half wits who thought that Boris had their interests at heart feel the full force of the Tory neo liberal mentality. That'll learn 'em.

He also doesnt need the ERG anymore.

Before anyone jumps on me I am not saying this as an absolute... but for arguments sake he has 2 options

1. Risky gamble no deal, which could leave his legacy in bits
2. Soft Brexit and less risky Brexit which will have it done.

What would you do?

BTW, I will have the pop corn out when Bozo Boris explains to people how he is going to manage a soft border between Ireland and northern Ireland. That was another tiny detail that the media allowed him to fudge. Lying cnut!

You do know that Cummings wasn't involved in the campaign and has been away having an operation? They hired the 2 young Kiwi's for their social media and an Aussie who got the Conservatives elected there.

People have been saying for a long time that if you continually sneer down at good honest people telling them they didn't know what they voted for, that they're stupid, don't understand the world etc then they will get their payback and it looks like they have.

Going to be one almighty battle in Labour now, Corbyn may have gone down badly but the strategy of people like Starmer has been pretty awful as well.

They had the opportunity to take May's deal which was fairly soft really as they likely wouldn't have got any alternative arrangements (at least not for years) and would have effectivley kept us in single market and customs union but instead they kept pushing for more and will now likely end up with a much harder brexit and potentially no deal.

Stupid is as stupid does. They will see in five years time.

If Corbyn gets to pick the next Labour leader from Momentum (as it seems he is trying to do), then they'll just paint him as a Marxist, anti-Semite and won't have to make anything up.

The country just voted on that and clearly doesn't care.
