I agree and i hope we will do just that, Jose will go for it for sure.

That may depend on what he’s been told to focus on. If Levy has said trying to get top 4 is the target then José has to give that priority. Same as Poch really. The difference will be whether Mourinho can do anything different with with squad rotation to get more out of the players compared to Poch , and of course what our transfer activity looks like in January.

Good points but Jose will not pass up a chance to win a trophy and he has the tee shirts to prove it.

I think that he's said as much

*Sees impending (mass) debate about value of winning trophies compared to CL qualification rear it's ugly head yet again and runs a fudging mile immediately

It's the main reason I'm happy to see scratch sides in the cup. It increases the chance of me only having to listen to it in the build up to one game.

We've basically already won this in my head, so I'm just going to ignore it and come back after the final to celebrate. :p

In all seriousness, there is no cleaner break from Poch's time here than to immediately win something, and I think Mourinho knows it. To get the players onside, and the fans onside. I think he'll give it a good go.

Mourinho has only won this once.
The League cup has always been his trophy.
This comes too late in the season with the League and Europe always his priority.

are this year's league cup winners going to be rewarded with the brand new europa league 2 competition? (that's like the 3rd tier after CL and Europa League)

Well we have sports personality of the year soon. Which is similar when people go on about personalities and sport.
