Lawro the Twunt says... 2019/20

Everton v Tottenham (16:30 GMT)

Tottenham did not do very much wrong when I saw them lose 2-1 to Liverpool at Anfield last Sunday.

If Son Heung-min had scored instead of hitting the bar as Spurs led 1-0 at the start of the second half, the outcome could have been different - but you have to remember the number of saves Paulo Gazzaniga had made to deny the Reds by that point.

Keeping Everton out is not such a difficult task and although Spurs have not been at their best recently, I still think they should have too much for the Toffees.

Where does that leave under-pressure Everton boss Marco Silva? I don't know.

His immediate future depends on the outlook of the club's owners, but if Everton don't win this game, I would say that Silva definitely cannot afford to lose his next one, which is away at Southampton.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Tottenham v Sheff Utd
Sheffield United continue to impress me but I am going for a Tottenham win here.

I am just a little loath to do so because, away from home, the Blades are still unbeaten and always seem to play well too.

But that run has to end somewhere and the signs are that Spurs are getting back to their usual selves.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Doomed ...

West Ham v Tottenham (12:30 GMT)

I think appointing Mourinho as manager is a gamble for Tottenham, I really seriously do.

They have replaced a very popular manager with someone who, after his time at Manchester United, we are not quite sure if we have seen the best of him already.

Will it affect the way Tottenham play? Well, they probably won't be as expansive as they were under Mauricio Pochettino.

But, whatever happens long term, on Saturday Mourinho will give them a lift straight away - he is a different voice, and gives them a fresh approach.

It is going to be interesting to see the way Spurs play, and I don't mean just in terms of their performance against West Ham. I mean in the subtle changes that he might make, if any, to their shape and their playing style.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

He really doesn't get it does he? Mourinho brings one thing - confidence, belief. Poch talked about it, Mourinho embodies it. It is what @Danishfurniturelover identified when he said Poch is not a winner. I think Poch is a winner, but he doesn't have the full-on confidence Mourinho brings.

The players will have a hard-on for the game. They will be more organised in defense too. It will tough against those lot and they have a good record against us and against Mourinho. The key will be our defense. If Mourinho can somehow stop us leaking goals, we'll win.

Tottenham v Bournemouth

Jose's back: played two and won two, and I can see Tottenham's revival continuing this weekend.

It is a different voice in the changing room and on the training pitch and I can see Spurs going on a run now.

I also can't recall Bournemouth going to too many of the top six and getting a result so I think Tottenham will win this one.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Man Utd v Tottenham
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford, almost 12 months after he was sacked, is going to be fascinating.

I am not bothered about the reception he gets from the Manchester United fans, I want to see what team he picks - because that will tell us whether he thinks he can go there and win, or whether he is thinking "let's not lose".

With Jose, it is usually the latter more often than the former but I am actually going to go for a Spurs win.

Mourinho has not changed a massive amount technically or tactically in his short time in charge, but he is a really good man-manager. That's how he has got Dele Alli playing again, for starters.

Another reason I'm backing Spurs is the way United are playing.

United's £89m midfielder Paul Pogba is close to returning from his ankle injury, but I don't think he is going to come back and be their saviour - he is more likely to come back and want to clear off.

I have been tipping United to win more often than not in the past few weeks because they have got some outstanding players, and I have been expecting something to click.

But the way the team is playing doesn't reflect the ability of the players within it, which is a big problem for United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sort out.

Jeez the old '2-0' formula is back, lazy slack faced twunt cundit ...

Tottenham v Burnley
Burnley are another team to have hit the buffers a bit, suffering back-to-back home defeats against Crystal Palace and Emirates Marketing Project.

Tottenham did not really get going at Old Trafford in midweek but I am expecting them to be far better this time. If so, they should win pretty comfortably.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Wolves v Tottenham (14:00 GMT)

Wolves are unbeaten in the Premier League since mid-September - 11 games ago - and it is clear they have got a bit of extra quality going right through their side.

Those runs cannot last forever though, and I am going to go for a Tottenham win.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho made loads of changes against Bayern Munich in midweek which will help ahead of this game.

Mourinho's side were poor when they lost at Old Trafford last week. I don't think he will let them be as bad again at Molineux.

Lawro's prediction: 0-2

He's definitely trolling Spurs with this 2-0 brick.

Tottenham v Chelsea (16:30)
Jose Mourinho faces Chelsea for the first time as Tottenham manager, knowing a win will send his new side above them and into fourth spot.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has done a very good job far and, as well as being easy on the eye, Chelsea have played very well at times this season.

But there are still occasions when they are not quite at it, which you can put down to their manager's inexperience.

There is no love lost between these two teams, and no-one has ever been able to tell me why the two sets of fans detest each other so much.

I think it is Spurs who will get bragging rights this weekend but, even if they do not win this game, they are certainly back in the race for the Champions League places now.

He's winding us up now. I came in thinking "it can't be another 2-0" and the twunt has done it again.

If only we were as good as he thinks, we'd be top I think.
