Seems to have worked s treat though. Perhaps he doesn't want Lo Celso to go the same way as Dembele, Lamela and Wanyama. I mean it's not like he has s team of medics, fitness coaches and Sports scientists advising him. I will tend to trust Poch and his team on this one.

But it was those very same fitness gurus that have done for Wanyama, Dembele, Rose, Lamela and Dier ( up until today at least!)

That was their heaviest defeat at home in european tie and the first win for an English team on their ground. I can't understand why our third goal took so long to be confirmed and was wondering if the first goal needed looking at to see if the keeper chopping Son's legs off or the charge in the back of Dele were penalties.

Or perhaps those players were run into the ground, so they are trying to manage players differently? I suspect their methods would be based on scientific data rather than just tinkling in the wind.

It was interesting at times to see the alternation of positions (Danny Rose playmaker), but still some worrying moments in there from a defensive point of view. Sissoko wants to go for a run, it's his natural game, but he's got to hold off and just sit. Both fullbacks were ok, but they did look to exploit the space between Rose and Dier more often. I still think that Foyth's display was more about discipline than him not being a bombarding wing back, however a more forward thinking RB might have offered more.

N'Dombele was mesmeric at times, but Gazza gets my MOTM for that save at 0-0. If that goes in, we would have had a horrible night trying to break them down with the crowd backing them.

His groin injury was "impact"? Groin injuries can occur at any time, but fitness and rest are key ingredients for avoiding them. The hip injury? Unless you know details I don't, you can tear a hip flexor because you're either tired or not 400%. You can also be unlucky, but Pochettino has clearly stated where Lo Celso's fitness levels have been for some time. Look mate, if you want to believe Poch has mismanaged the player, fine.

I wholeheartedly disagree.
You clearly didn't watch the game or see the "tackle" that caused the injury. Saying it was was fitness related would be like saying Gomes' injury on the weekend was due to fitness. I've attached a clip of the foul so you can see for yourself exactly how the injury was caused. If you still think that is fitness related I give up. [emoji38]

This was in the 24th minute.

He played until the 53rd minute, when he was subbed after another naughty challenge (subbed off not carried off).

Apologies for being a pedant but I am learning that you love your details. we can debate whether a filthy tackle like that on the ankle could cause a later hip flexor injury, but staying on the pitch for another 30+ minutes would be a better punt.
But hey. Why listen to me. If you think a player who had NO pre-season training, and whose manager is only just feeling right now in November that he might be able to play 90 minutes, has been "fit since the summer", then indeed, let's give up on each other. But I will say that once again, the manager of our football club knows best, and I disagree wholeheartedly that he has "mismanaged" LoCelso.

As I said previously he was playing through the summer so his need for a preseason was lessened due not having that time off. He was already fit at the start of the season, maybe not quite to Poch's super high standards but still match fit.

We know Poch likes to ease his signings in slowly likely because of his extreme fitness demands and usually their rather late arrival but that doesn't change that in this case the player himself was fit and was in fact in pre season training with Betis until the deal was close so it's wrong to say he had no pre season because he did and Poch even said he did. Poch only said he had been put of training for a week.

You seem to want to paint this picture of Lo Celso sunning himself on the beach all summer losing his fitness and conditioning when the reality is he played a high level competitive tournament this very summer and then went Into pre season with his previous club. But ok you want to pretend one of that happened no worries. [emoji2369]

Wasn't the conditioning due to the said injury sustained in the said international match? You know when he was off from mid September until the end of October?

After all why wouldn't Poch have wanted to start his man earlier having tracked him all summer? And doesn't the case of Lamela show you need to manage new players carefully in the PL? He broke down early in his Spurs career and has never really recovered.

Perhaps Poch is thinking longer term here and easing Lo Celso in on the advice of the specialists.

Hahahaha. The state of this.

He had an extended holiday after Copa America. He did not join Betis for the start of their pre-season, missing their first pre-season prep and games. He joined up with them for their pre-season in Morocco around August 4th. He signed for us a week later. He had hardly any pre-season work at all (I apologize BTW as it appears he might've had a week).

Tell you what though, given that I am obviously an idiot and Poch is too, let's take the more important angle here (Poch's stupidity in managing the player) and say that with your immense knowledge, do us all a favor and get in his ear right now because he (and Tottenham) need you. Unless you already did find his ear, and are the reason Lo Celso started last night?

(Or are you prepared to accept that maybe Pochettino knows their fitness levels better than either of us, which is why despite our sometime-frustrations, he is managing them well?)

Blimey mate haven't you read enough posts on here to realise most people know far more about the the players fitness and mental state than Poch and have a far greater tactical knowledge than him?

On a serious note, the tech is fine, it’s the muppets they get to use it that’s the problem.

Not quite sure I agree. There shouldn't be any doubt about offsides, for instance, yet they can't even figure out how to draw the line that's supposed to show the offside.

Scum beat them 1-0 there in the euro league a couple of seasons ago, if I remember correctly.

You're right Poch is perfect, he's never made a managerial mistake in his career. Lo Celso was in fact not fit despite all the evidence that shows otherwise [emoji58]

You win. [emoji58]

Based on our last 11 months of results .. that might not be far from the truth .. (yes, I get sarcasm .. take some back)
