Son Heung-Min

If you are a forward and you see your defenders letting in goals this easily it makes your blood boil. The same goes for defenders watching forwards waste great chances too.

Overload in one area means weakness in another. Son is our best bet in a counterattack. Maybe someone else needs to beef up defence against pool, but not son please.
Thought it was a tremendous performance from Son last night in an attacking sense. However he repeatedly didn't track back leaving an overload on Ben Davies. Do that against Mane, Ham Salad and Firmino and we will be murdered.

Agreed, we need to keep Son up and wide left (and someone else up and high right), to stress the Pool backline when TAA (and Robertson) pushes forward
This. With Lamela on the right for some general brickhousery. I've actually got a good feeling about this one.

As long as Sissoko doesn't starting pointing in the box again.

Like you i thought he had a great game but as you say he left Davies 2-1 on several occasions. I think once we get Dier back in the team ( fit and well) he would probably have moved across to help Davies.

If that is the tactic then I am sure Poch will compensate for it. Didn't look to me to be the tactic yesterday due to how deep he was rather that Son went to sleep. Plus I would rather players were more intelligent on the pitch so deal with the most imminently dangerous situation as it arises especially as they are watching it unfold

Agreed. I was surprised Son took it so wide, I thought he was going to shoot much earlier on, rather than trying to round the keeper.

It was not a bad effort, but frustrating it was 8 inches too high

Absolutely wasted today playing left wing back.
Liverpool would have feared him getting in behind Lovren on the break but Poch used him as a defender.

Looked like he was playing on the left side of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 today to me. The problem was that our passing out from the back was so bad that Liverpool had 75% of the ball and therefore played most of the game in our half (and the job of the wide players in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1 is to pick up the opposition's fullback when they come forward.

Agreed. Son looked dangerous whenever he got the chance, and most of our attacks, at least before Ndombele came on, were down the left.

I think it hurts more for him considering the amount he puts in to it, we just stand / sit there and moan a bit..

Anyone blaming him for the miss saying we'd have won it if we'd have gone two up needs to wind their neck in, we'd still have crumbled going in with a two goal lead sadly.

What a ball he put in on his left towards the latter stages as well. I'm not criticizing but Harry was just a bit slow getting to it...

I think Harry was offside?
